Happy Veterans Day GOF's.
Yes sir, every time we do our (horseback, 9 horses, 9 riders and 9 flags plus the fallen soldier horse) military tribute show I am reminded of the sacrifices our vets made on our behalf in order for us to enjoy all of the freedoms we do today.

I believe 60 is the threshold for this group....... am I wrong?

EDIT: Actually I remember a few who were under that but particularly grumpy...

O.K. then.....I hit the 60 mark last Monday.....B-String I want a number.....

Now, ALL OF YOU, get off my lawn or we'll see if my 60 year old eyes and my 308 can still hit at 1200+ yards while your still running and screaming for mercy.....:D:D:D

More tales of the Marmaduke...

Okay, so the Shadow of Death has been killing bunny wabbits again. The latest grim ore consisted of a decapitated corpse. I, through the horror of that, maybe didn't do due diligence in the head recovery operation.. honestly, thought that the murdering lab had ate it. Two days later, the stinking head re emerged-- thanks, Duke!

Last night, I couldn't find his lead. I took him for a walk, anyway (thought I could heal him after years of him minding me on the lead) NOPE! He immediately ran into the crawfish/rice fields upon the levee's and came back with a opossum. He ignored me and took it back to the house. I did save the thing. Tonight, I walked him on lead. But at a certain point, I dropped Duke's lead to take a piss... Off he goes and catches another opossum; this time I was able to heal him and make him drop the varmint. He likes the lead better than the prey; I think.

I had a 6 year old boy over here recently. He is a grandchild of a carpenter doing some renovations here. WOW! talk about energy! This kid, from here on known as: Pinocchio, was literally skipping around like a Disney character. He took a liking to Marmaduke. "Hey, Duke, watcha doing? Hey, Duke, where you going?" Pinocchio followed Duke around like Duke shadows me. Pinocchio would giggle everytime Duke would bump into him.. "I like Duke! Get me Duke!" and he would run. It started raining and the two morons were still playing.

Sorry Grumps, but it was kinda Joyful,
fnord!

Keyword varmint. Those things get 1 point for being a marsupial and -10 for being snarling, rabid, ginormous rats with a pouch. Nasty things. Duke did well ridding the world of two of them!
sorry, but the labs mouth is too soft... the opossums went into their normal shock mode (they don't "play" dead; they just go out cold without deliberation. I know, because left to his own, Duke will lay in waiting for their nervous shock to wear off and catch them again, and again,), and I got Duke inside and the varmints escaped.
I've no love for the opossums either; I just get tired of having to haul off carcasses.
fnord!
