We have no cable, no satellite, no streaming...just an antenna. No bluray, just dvd. We get our internet off a cell tower. No pavement within a mile, and we have our own well and a septic system...carefully separated.

All of my basses and guitars can be used without electricity. We make about half our electricity.

We live in a city with everything except OTA channels. The nearest stations are over 60 miles away so we are stuck with cable or satellite. A small price to pay to avoid the big city crap.

Where I live, they don't broadcast TV over the air anymore. Wells are banned. They started putting portable toilets out on the street for homeless people and drug addicts to use. There are apartment buildings that don't allow dogs or parrots. Don't drink the tap water, it comes from bottles. I can't get corn as fresh as you can.

Wish there was some middle ground.

only thing wrong with where I live is there's no pizza delivery.

I gave in to the weekend sales force and ordered a credenza, aka TV stand. I initially decided to save some cost on delivery charges by picking it up at the warehouse. Then I found out that it weighs 120lbs. No thanks.

What I like about the cabinet is that it has tambour or roll top doors that slide open. Any TV boxes inside can he hidden from view when not in use. The doors are similar to the antique cabinet below. When they are open, they're out of the way which is a good feature.

This'll get you all warmed up for all those "Bargains, Bargains, Bargains".

Notice how the standup bass has a nice natural distorted tone. I think, that's how bass should sound. Too often I hear players asking for recommendations for uncoloured cabinets or amps. Bass isn't supposed to be uncoloured. It supposed to have richness and harmonics, a little grit. It adds complexity and a sense of urgency and punctuation to the music. Instruments and amps add that. Some better than others.
