You need to have the old type of lines. POTS lines. Plain Old Telephone Lines. I think most places still have these, copper lines.

Yep. Most people don't know what POTS stands for. If you still have analog tip and ring phone lines, the old rotary dial phones will still work. If you have digital, or VOIP they won't.

Watched about a 45 mins of Snow Devils off and on. Cheesy but kinda fun. The one after that was also a weiner although the most of the acting for a plane crash and vampire situation was pretty good. Yeah, I would probably freak out, too. It's in Japanese with English subtitles.

I have a fibre optic cable that connects to the home router. The router has a phone jack that accepts a regular old style phone. So it still can be done within a digital system.
Problem is, if the power goes out the phone is dead unless you have a battery backup for the router. With the old phone lines 911 always worked. Now it doesn't for everyone which is pretty serious if you don't have a working cell phone.

No Apple products in this house. My former employer has flip phones for 5G for about 60 bucks. I'm pretty much tied to those offerings especially with the retiree discount. The only reason I looked at the FlipZ is because it's seems to be getting to the point of needing a smart phone to do things and I want a phone that fits in my pocket.

Drove the Corvette over to see a friend in Shady Shores. I've ridden scooters with him a number of times and he went with me on Epic Journey 2019. Good guy. He's a Mopar guy and Honda motorcycle guy but I don't hold that against him. Most of our conversations are exaggerations or out right lies. 
He used to drag race motorcycles and cars and worked for American Honda at one point. He has tons of stories about that stuff, mostly about guys doing stupid things with said vehicles.

Used to be that commercial breaks were a single 30 seconds. That was doable. Now, CNN which most people have to pay for, is running 4.5 minute ads. That is not doable. It is lunacy to expect sane people to watch 2 minutes of regurgitated news and then 4.5 minutes of the same ads. But, I guess that is just me being a GOF...
