That cracked me up. I read that Peter Wolf had to do that rap word for word from then on at concerts after that album came out.
Hmm. I remember all the words to "Mack the Knife" and an R-rated version of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas", but that is outta my league.

I got a notice from AT&T about the 3g /flip being NFG by Feb. I called to ask for some clarification. The young lady I spoke to was very helpful. Maybe more than she was s'posed to be. She informed that they have a program called "The 3g Sunset Program", which the folks in the store don't tell you about 'cos they don't make their commission(not my problem). You get an iPhone SE, FREE.(Free-free, free-free-free). Guess what I'll be doing.:)

The iPhone SE is a nice phone. Voice quality is excellent. Images are good. I like the small size. On the negative side, a small phone in combination with big fingers and old eyes makes some things difficult to use. Forget about using the internet or reading documents.

Free often means that you have to sign a new contract with AT&T. See if they will give you free long distance in the US.

And THAT is how the evil empire hooks you! Worked fabulously with school kids. Apple subsidized the cost of iProducts to school districts and higher ed institutions. Kids and college students knew Apple products when the graduated. Guess what they kept buying when they had their own money?

For us GOFs, that's still a sweet deal.

Why?

I hope you're able to use that iPhone for as long as you used your flipper!

Doesn't change one fact though.

You've got your universe.

Beneath that, you've got the Underverse (and Riddick to go with it).

Beneath that?

The Appleverse.

I(obviously)haven't been able to use the interweb now, prolly won't on a new phone. I don't text, so that's not a problem(it IS a phone, ya know). I will be able to take better pix, which the rest of y'all will appreciate. I currently have 300 minutes of data of which I roll over 300 minutes each month, so it's not likely to cost much more than I pay now($48/month).

For sure a step up from the old flipphone.

More and more sites have what they call a two stage login process for extra security. You log in, then they send you a text message with a code that you have to enter. For example, ebay and amazon are two places that can use it. In that respect texting is useful.

With an iphone, if you use facetime (they see you as well as hear you) to phone family for example, it uses digital. The advantage is no long distance charges as it's internet based.

And, if they make you sign a contract to get the free phone, then the second it expires you go with Consumer Cellular. In my area, at least, they put you on either AT&T or T-Mobile's network, and if you care, you can tell them which one you'd rather be on. You figure out how much or how little a plan you want, they send you the SIM to put into your phone and off you go. I know it sort of sounds like I'm a shill for CC, but I just like their service and prices. They're very much no fuss, no muss.

I stopped using one something like this about 2 years ago when I moved out here, not sure I'll if I'll use it when I get back, too used to a smartphone now.

Yeah, I'm considering them if I don't like AT&T's deal.
