Christmas tamales means the entire family is put to work in the kitchen.
Told this to my wife. She groaned, but said it's a definite step up from a Dad joke.
I liked it, though. Because I'm what she calls her "perpetual seventh-grader."

Nice piece!
We needed a stand for the new TV the other year. Shopped around but didn't really like anything and too expensive. A lot of the stuff was "some assembly required" or variations on metal/glass. We had a 30 yr old dresser we had thought about giving away then my wife asked if that could be repurposed. Yes! And another chance to turn wood into sawdust and buy more tools. I repurposed the dresser to this:

Then we had all of the drawers laying around for a couple of years. Finally did this with the drawers.

Then in the future some blues/rock guy can do a cover. He also made good use of one of my favorite chords - dominant 7 #9

So it stands out in the mix?
I was always in charge of corn husks. Soaking, then stuffing and wrapping. My work was often criticized for being too generous. but I like bigger tamales.
My standard reply is, "then you can do it next time". Strangely, that doesn't seem to transpire. But then they know why I appear not to hear them later.
Funny thing...any time I tried them, I had to be generous with Rolaids!

So it compliments the mix. The high frequencies do help it to cut through as well.
As an example, listen to Beatles isolated bass tracks, they have some distortion that you don't hear when you listen to the song. But that tone combines with the song to make it better. Same can be heard on Jameson's isolated tracks. The roughness comes out in the dynamics of playing, weaving in and out of distortion.
Tasks like that give you time to think.
Now for something completely different.
I had a cousin with the '64 Galaxy and this 427 FE. It was one of the production homologation cars so Ford could use the engine in NASCAR. I believe the automakers had to make at least 500 of the cars for it to be considered a production model and be used in stock car racing. Great looking car - 2 door hardtop, black on black. What a beast! and the sound!
I did get to drive it when I was about 12. 
He blew the engine. I don't know what happened to the car.
