I had a cousin with the '64 Galaxy and this 427 FE. It was one of the production homologation cars so Ford could use the engine in NASCAR. I believe the automakers had to make at least 500 of the cars for it to be considered a production model and be used in stock car racing. Great looking car - 2 door hardtop, black on black. What a beast! and the sound! :drool: I did get to drive it when I was about 12. :hyper: He blew the engine. I don't know what happened to the car.

Love the engine's sound. Reminds me of the chase scene in Bullitt.

That's a good idea. I mark my calendar for January 1st and July 4th to change the smoke detector batteries.

The deer and other critters will take any bad lettuce.

All mine are 9V. I test them with smoke from a match.

I use a joss stick. The incense smells good and makes a lot of smoke.

I had to replace mine last year because of the new local law banning the 9V type.

The 10 year requirement in all smoke alarms is because the sensor (with the tiny radiation label on it) has an expiry date.

Great idea on draining it. I have only found two brands locally that are the size and capacity I want. Both are priced the same but one has a longer warranty. Unless the other has very outstanding reviews the longer warranty seems better.

Talkbass's resident plumber here.. My suggestion is to stick with a standard 50 gallon gas water heater. It will provide plenty of hot water provided you don't have a huge Jaccuzzi or several people taking baths or showers in a row. The simpler the better. While they are a bit more efficient , the high efficiency fan induced ones need electricity to run , are more expensive , and have a lot more things that can go wrong with them such as fan motors , self igniters and having to run a dedicated ground fault electrical outlet. And yes , you are correct , it will require quite a bit of plumbing expertise to get a tankless unit installed. Stick with a simple gas operated unit (no fan induction or self igniters) as you are already set up for it with a gas line and an exhaust flue. All this will require to install is a couple of solder joints , and possibly some minor alterations to your gas line and flue pipe.
While the tankless ones WILL provide pretty much endless hot water , they are much more expensive , will need an electrical supply and REQUIRE some serious maintenence about every six months. They are also much more prone to breakdowns than a standard unit. Personally , I wouldn't have one if it was given to me.
