Rhubarb grew like weeds along Roosevelt Rd. in Winfield, IL. Had to take a pass on that lot, due to: a) busy road, b) lots of winter salting, c) weed killing chemicals used by the county.
Too bad. Rhubarb done right is super good!
There is a weed that look just like rhubarb only you can't eat it. So you have to be careful.
I buy my supply from an outdoor market. There are organic farmers that grow it as a crop.
We had a good sized patch growing on the south side of the garage on my folks farm. Rhubarb pies, cake, torte, jam, and more cooked and frozen for the rest of the year. We never got tired of it! Now I gotta go out and find some.
I've seen that weed. I have a small patch of rhubarb that is growing from my family stock(transplants) from my childhood home. Same thing with my raspberry patch.

I saw rhubarb at the market Saturday. Only one vendor had asparagus. Only three weeks of asparagus season remain, if counting from Easter to Midsummer. That also means my big blue bass will be three years old!
Vast un-masked conditions out there. Took in many strange sights on a light excursion to the deep countryside. The thought arises — "that guy has more issues than Sports Illustrated" — as Odin and I find ourselves behind a pickup truck at the town's only traffic light.

It was a breakfast for us kids growing up.
