Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Some mornings I share a bit of apple with a groundhog that greets the sunrise from some rocks beside the sidewalk. I noticed that it looks very healthy. Today she had two little babies with her. They eat grass, wildflowers, and mow the clover.

Muggy again today. Temperature will climb to 41C (106F), humidity at 6AM was 76%, rain this afternoon. You’d think this was Florida on a good day.

I wish that I could have such a romantic sounding relationship with my groundhogs. I just saw a youngster today, too. If only they would not invade my space. There is SO much room elsewhere for them to be groundhogs.

I hate to see old architecture butchered or torn down.

One retailer had a beautiful 100 year old building that occupied a city block. The company failed and assets were bought by Sears. They redeveloped the building in 1990. The outside was restored. On the inside they gutted it, cut huge holes on each floor and expanded, turning it into a shopping mall where you can look down onto lower floors. Upper floors became office space.

The concept failed. It was never the destination that it was. Yet another renovation is going on now. A lot of chains closed because of covid. There are many empty stores, high lease rates are part of the problem.

I was in a band 70-72 that used 4 Voice of the Theater utility cabs(with the built in horn), 2 stacked on either side of the stage. These were used only for vocals. Almost nobody was mic'ing instruments through the PA at that time.(just for info, I was playing a VOX Continental organ>Leslie speaker miced into my Kasino bass amp, the bass man used an Ampeg V4>2 2x15 cabs, the guitarist had 2 VOX Super Beatles[2 heads-1 on standby, 1 active>2 4x12 cabs], and the drummer had a double bass drum, 3 mounted toms, 2 floor toms, snare, and a lotta cymbals rig). When that group folded, I got 2 of the VOT's, which I used either for my home stereo or, later at the Miami Beach hotel gig, for PA. The hotel later bought them from me and someone from another band-after we'd moved on-stole the horns out of them.:jawdrop:

But like you we are now on the boat most weekends.. Bass and boat - makes me less of "Grumpy Old Fart"

BAss or Bass? Since you mentioned a boat, I'm confused. :laugh:

From your screen name I assume you are a Razorbacks fan and have or had a kid in school at Fayetteville? My niece graduated from there. My sister and her crew are big fans. They've toned it down from rabid over the past few years. I generally don't watch college football but I do get entertainment value from saying "Roll Tide!" when we're over there. :laugh:

If I had the space in the house a pair of those would be here. Hmmm...remove a few pieces of furniture, perhaps? :laugh:
