Similar thing with wood working or electronicals. Maybe scribble out something, stare at it for a while, walk around the garage - maybe for a couple of days - then do it.
There is definitely value in the unconscious "marination" the brain does while we're sleeping. The expression "Let me sleep on it" arose from an intuitive understanding of this, eons before neuroscience managed to reveal the reasons for it.

The Colombian gentleman I sometimes mention is never selected for jury duty. The ironclad sentence he uses is "My father was disbarred."
Last three times I was called, I was dismissed when they "caught" me counting my former students among the lawyers, defendants, and police officers. Teaching for 36 years in the same small town has its upsides. Last one was a domestic abuse case, and I'd already been seated. Defendant saw me in the jury box and freaked...he knew my views on wife-beating. Defense dismissed me.

He should freak and I hope he received what he gave out. If not, then he needs to be "Equalized". :rage:

Wait...,you taught wife beating?

I have been fortunate (or unfortunate?) that I have not had to serve on a jury. If I did get called, I would tell the lawyers that I can tell if someone is guilty just by looking at them.....maybe that is why I have not been called for jury duty?

Try this when they start the interviews - "I can tell someone is guilty just by looking at them."

I've been called once in 27 yrs for a DUI case. I thought it was pretty interesting. I would not want to be part of a trial that involved someone's death.
Around here, we over-65 oldsters can opt out if we want.
