This is the first I learned of major league baseball ball girls. :meh: Always seemed to me a major selling point in baseball for young boys includes putting out windows.
I prefer the Arizona Diamondbacks approach. They have "Golden Glovers"...a nice spin on the "Gold Glove" annual award for each fielding position least errors. You've gotta be retired to be a Golden Glover.

I never got picked. :bawl:

Yes, the demise of the "Random Thoughts Megathread" has given its subscribership little reason to live anymore.
:bawl::(

It's really cut back on my ability to indulge in jackassery.

A few years ago, I was in a local concert band that decided to do this number. One of the flutists was going to be the typist, but there was a problem. Nobody had a manual typewriter. Except me-I had what had been my Mom's, which was used for the concert and again 2 years later after I'd left the band but had no problem loaning it to them.
EDIT: they had to mic it.

I have known Jim Saye since 2nd grade. The law forced the door of his house today and found him in bed. They said about 3 days since he died. Jim had 2 boys, oldest about 13. They're with Mom, Jimmy's ex wife. I am stunned.

All I have to give you are my thoughts and support from afar.
So Sorry to hear of your friend, Jim’s, death.

Jerry Lewis did a similar bit, he faked having a real typewriter.

So very sorry about your friend. When someone dies and we aren’t expecting it, I have great difficulty making sense of everything. May you, his other friends, and his family find solace in the memorable times you spent together.
