Groomer day for Odin. In Real Life ™ that means he will sleep right next to me for a few nights, which is not his habit.
Video day for Morrighan. In Real Life ™ that means dressing up a little for the camera. Agreed to an improvisation on the diatonic cycle, and all I've got is a single eighth note figure![]()
Hope that Odin is happy with the final result. I got a summer haircut (read short) yesterday.
Some disco inspiration. Just play it backwards and fix the rough edges.
"Marleaux" is just an oh-so-twee way of spelling "cat bass."Only one oar in the water without my Marleaux.![]()

It's really cut back on my ability to indulge in jackassery.
Nobody likes this.

Do the groove to Maneater but sing the words to Doin' It. It works every time, trust me. Mama said knock you out!
I made it a big point to avoid actually playing anything in the Marleaux booth when I was "working" right next door at NAMM, especially since they are one of the very few to showcase fretless bass appliances at the show.
I have known Jim Saye since 2nd grade. The law forced the door of his house today and found him in bed. They said about 3 days since he died. Jim had 2 boys, oldest about 13. They're with Mom, Jimmy's ex wife. I am stunned.
A few years ago, I was in a local concert band that decided to do this number. One of the flutists was going to be the typist, but there was a problem. Nobody had a manual typewriter. Except me-I had what had been my Mom's, which was used for the concert and again 2 years later after I'd left the band but had no problem loaning it to them.
EDIT: they had to mic it.

Had not heard of Marleaux until now. Wow. Definitely some artwork in those basses.
It went into the(unknown)house PA.Never really thought of the difference between acoustic and electric typewriters. What's the best amp for the electric?
Oh, yeah, how much does it weigh? lol.

Yep, the fretless Diva and Contra models are especially tasty, but...sticker shock.
Then there is this. Heck of a lot of fun to play but it's a workout!
