Do you have to tip the groomer like at a barber shop. Not a good tradition but you shell out in fear not being treated well next time.

My (ex) groomer has one of those apple card swipers and it tries to automatically add 25%. Nah...0 is appropriate.
There's a funny quote about poodles in John D. MacDonald's A Nightmare in Pink. It's said by the protagonist, Travis McGee:
"There was a preponderance of poodles. This is the most desperate breed there is. They are just a little too bright for the servile role of dogdom. So their loneliness is a little more excruciating, their welcomes more frantic, their desire to please a little more intense. It is truly amazing how different a band sounds without Auto-Tune.....
It was veterinarian day today for us. We spent $350 getting diagnostic work up on a cat only to have there be nothing wrong with him. He had been throwing up after just about every meal for the last 5 days. Its not hair from self-grooming; it is food and at times clear liquid (kinda foamy like saliva)
He does have other weird neurotic habits. He acts very normal in between these events. Still interacts, likes his belly rubbed, etc...
All cats throw up for various reasons and it is considered normal but his was out of character.
Part of the joy I guess.
I wouldn't call it joy but, I am somewhat biased.
My wife and I had many rescue dogs and shared the thousands of dollars in vet bills. When I had to take the last one on his "last ride", I told her that I had had enough. If we ever get another animal, it will be a young one and qualify for vet insurance. Fortunately, that never happened. Then we retired and supposedly had a lot of free time to travel.
Unfortunately, she took in an abandoned kitten. We could have given it to a feline rescue center but, oh, no...she decided to adopt it. Now, I have to put up with a feral cat that can't be trained, a stinky litter box and she pays for a cat sitter to come in, if we can ever get away. Of course, those getaways are limited to the time the sitter has.
She won't put her in a cat day care center because it wouldn't be fair. And who wants to try to catch and stuff a wild, scratching cat into a box to take her there?
Can't win for losing...

We've had a cat or cats since we were married, actually a year before in '76. Amos, a one eyed tom who kept no other cats in the neighborhood unless he was amorous. Then we had one of Amos's kids, Amie. She developed diabetes and we gave here insulin shots for a number of years. She made it to 13. Went a while with no pets, then got Ted at a vet clinic and Tootsie at a pet store from a stray's litter. Both were pretty small. After a 2-3 yrs Ted was rough housing too much with Tootsie so we got him a "pet" from a shelter. Comet was a couple of years old, I think. He lived up to his name! We had a great sitter so travel wasn't much of a problem. Anyways, we lost Ted at 15, Comet at 17, and Tootsie at almost 21. No more. Can't deal with loosing another one. My asthma went away not long after the last one was gone so there's that, too.

The dog doesn't mind if I sing, so that's a blessing right there.
My dog doesn't seem to mind the Rumble 25 so much. The Rumble 150 scares the crap out of her.

Today is July 2, 2021. 245 years ago on this day, the Continental Congress approved the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. July 4, marks the day when the first signature (i.e., John Hancock) was affixed. The majority of the signers didn’t sign the Declaration until August.
Given that today has special significance in the history of the U.S., which shows did the History Channel run?
Did they run any shows regarding the Declaration itself? No.
Did they run any shows regarding the War for Independence? No.
Did they run any shows about the events leading up to the adoption of the Declaration? No.
The History Channel ran an all day marathon of Ancient Aliens. Evidently, tales of Area 51 or Little Green Men bring in more advertising dollars than covering true, historical events.
In my mind, A&E should change the name of the History Channel to to “We Don’t Care What We Broadcast As Long As We Can Squeeze More Dollars Out Of Crap That Pays Better Channel”
