I just realized that this could be at night, too.

Paradox, anyone?

A pair of docs? You must be referring to the two guys in the far booth.

I think she is having regrets.

Many of the old Greyhound/Trailways terminals had a diner area while waiting for one's connection-bus or otherwise. Lotta old movies had scenes shot in them.
Why did the film Witness come to mind when I read this?
Stock photography. I'll show myself out, too and I won't let the screen door hit me in the ass on the way out.

Um, friend, those are not donkeys... ;)

I wouldn't call it joy but, I am somewhat biased.

My wife and I had many rescue dogs and shared the thousands of dollars in vet bills. When I had to take the last one on his "last ride", I told her that I had had enough. If we ever get another animal, it will be a young one and qualify for vet insurance. Fortunately, that never happened. Then we retired and supposedly had a lot of free time to travel.

Unfortunately, she took in an abandoned kitten. We could have given it to a feline rescue center but, oh, no...she decided to adopt it. Now, I have to put up with a feral cat that can't be trained, a stinky litter box and she pays for a cat sitter to come in, if we can ever get away. Of course, those getaways are limited to the time the sitter has.

She won't put her in a cat day care center because it wouldn't be fair. And who wants to try to catch and stuff a wild, scratching cat into a box to take her there?

Can't win for losing...:rollno:.
25 years ago, someone gave my wife a canary. A visitor saw the canary, and said, "Oh, you have a bird! Will you take mine?"

Yes, when things tend to grow on you, one calls it a labor of love...years ago, a friend of my father gave me a 2 gal. aquarium with three guppies. Over the years, that grew to 14+ aquariums (some over 100 gal.) and a 3,400 gal. koi pond. Thousands of fish and no, they weren't all from the same guppies ;).

Drug free urine samples have good market value.

Yes, yes they do for a subset of society.

Just fed the parking meter for someone parked right in front of where I'm taking coffee now. The parking meter troll gives me stinkeye when he sees me do that.
