The Bluebird of Happiness is on a murder spree

Ditto what @Morrighan said.

I had a security update yesterday on all my apple devices. Very odd. This is what it looks like on youtube.

I did note below that the video provider is The State51 Conspiracy. That wouldn’t have anything to do with it would it?

lol. We get calls almost every day about our extended warranty expiring and if we don't respond they will close our file. They have been closing the file for about six months now.

We stumbled into a way to discourage telemarketers from leaving lengthy messages. We shortened the VM greeting to "you have reached xxx-xxx-xxxx. Please leave a message". By the time computer routes the call to a rep the greeting has played and they get directly into VM and think someone is on the line. Almost all of the messages left are "Hello. Hello. Hello?" click. Sometimes they say our names with the same result.

I have a kinda long outgoing msg. Their outgoing msg starts playing while mine is playing so I get "...please call ______", which I dutifully ignore.

When I had an answering machine, I filled the entire message with a dial tone. They’d hang up thinking the line had disconnected.

GOF points awarded for knowing what a dial tone sounds like without searching the 'Tube.

Found okra Saturday morning at the growers' market. That meant curry Saturday evening. Makes a good breakfast, too. Better the next morning, yes.

Okra can be (significantly) de-slimed when rolled in cornmeal and fried in bacon fat, a friend told me.

For the record, Okra only has a colour tone, it doesn’t have a dial tone. Although you can dial in a recipe.

Interesting to note that dial tones took a long time to standardize, even within countries. There were many different systems installed and regions were hard pressed to change.

For musician sorts, in North America, the dial tone is 350Hz and 440Hz sine waves. They mix together (adding and subtracting the waves) with a beat frequency of 90hz
UK, 350Hz and 450Hz, beat of 100Hz
Europe, 425Hz
France, 440Hz
Japan, 400Hz
Latin America, 425Hz
