When I had an answering machine, I filled the entire message with a dial tone. They’d hang up thinking the line had disconnected.
When I want twang, it’s a telecaster through a AC-30. The high end can peel the paint off of a wall. Inspired by Roy (Leroy) Buchanan.
Got a ATT land-line house phone system now that asks everyone (who's number is not previously approved by us) to go away if they're selling stuff, and if not then they need to hit their # button to either get connected live or leave a message. It eliminates all robocalls and almost all of the rare in-person marketing calls. All new friends who do use the # system to reach us get their numbers quickly approved so they can go straight thru to the system next time...Good one. I once had my answering machine set up to say.."Hello?...HELLO?...HELLLOO?...I think someone is on the line....Hello?...Sorry, we are not available, please leave a message. ".... Beep....
I use to get messages of people yelling on the phone thinking I could not hear them.

I had a 135W Fender Twin Reverb because the Beatles had one in Let It Be. It was very bright sounding, much more than the blackface ones.
GOF points awarded for knowing what a dial tone sounds like without searching the 'Tube.
Found okra Saturday morning at the growers' market. That meant curry Saturday evening. Makes a good breakfast, too. Better the next morning, yes.
Okra can be (significantly) de-slimed when rolled in cornmeal and fried in bacon fat, a friend told me.
