Not a nice girl myself, but I can confirm that the nice girls visiting the Cornish Pasty Company in Flagstaff definitely love a pasty. Me. I just got plenty of the ol' never-mind.

Cleaned up and put new strings on the acoustic guitar today. Hadn't touched it in a long time. Hurts my fingers it does, laws yes! I was a decent guitar player once upon a time. Might be able to work my way back to mediocre advanced novice with a little work and building up callouses.

My wife bought a Goya G310 at a pawn shop circa '82 for an anniversary present. I think she paid about 85 bucks for it with the case. Pretty cool gift! I hadn't play any kind of instrument for about 10 yrs. Don't know the exact year but a brief search says this model was made in Korea from about '78-'86 after Martin acquired the brand name.

Kicking around the idea of another electric and learning some jazz stuff. I had a pretty nice playing Korean Strat once upon a time with Lace Sensor pups. Should have kept it.

I inherited my brother’s classical Yamaha when he passed away. I, too, played guitar before picking up the bass. I wasn’t great but I could play a bit. Now, I can’t believe that I could play... my fingers feel SO fat that it is hard to get simple chords out. What the hell?
I see these old jazz guys play and they look to have big old sausage fingers .

You can never go wrong with a Yamaha instrument. Their acoustics are very good value and record well.

Prep'ing for Mexican food tonight. Wife is making the seasoning for fajitas. I have salsa made with a double secret recipe simmering on the stove now - Hatch green chile, diced tomato, onion, garlic, oregano, thyme, cumin, tarragon, salt.

An almost new bottle of Herradura Ultra Anejo and Grand Marnier is on deck for margaritas. I had to sample the tequila to make sure it was okay.

Note that they all got spiffed up for the occasion. Something people don’t do much of today. I guess that they were just wearing their working cloths. Good thing that they were jazz musicians instead of strippers.

I taught for five years in a little mining town on the AZ-Sonora border. Was out in my jeep one day exploring the desert trails south of town, and drove straight into an ambush with FIVE different law enforcement agencies in attendance. Had every weapon short of antitank missiles. Fortunately, a couple of the LEOs knew me. I excused myself and retraced my path.

Wasn't Bisbee by any chance? I spent some good fun time there years ago, liked it a lot. No more mining left, instead much art, partying, intellectual stimulation, independent folks and hippiness...

Nope... Ajo. Taught there from 74 to 79. No mining left there either...or much of anything else, I hear.

I saw it this afternoon, after seeing the New York Minute exhibit. I wandered over to the Modern Art galleries and there it was! Along with the usual fare: Miro, Magritte, Man Ray, etc.
