Remember, a while back I posted this painting?

I saw it this afternoon, after seeing the New York Minute exhibit. I wandered over to the Modern Art galleries and there it was! Along with the usual fare: Miro, Magritte, Man Ray, etc. :)

Thought that is a room being refurbished?

Cleaned up and put new strings on the acoustic guitar today. Hadn't touched it in a long time. Hurts my fingers it does, laws yes! I was a decent guitar player once upon a time. Might be able to work my way back to mediocre advanced novice with a little work and building up callouses.

My wife bought a Goya G310 at a pawn shop circa '82 for an anniversary present. I think she paid about 85 bucks for it with the case. Pretty cool gift! I hadn't play any kind of instrument for about 10 yrs. Don't know the exact year but a brief search says this model was made in Korea from about '78-'86 after Martin acquired the brand name.

Kicking around the idea of another electric and learning some jazz stuff. I had a pretty nice playing Korean Strat once upon a time with Lace Sensor pups. Should have kept it.
Guitars....acoustic guitars...Martin...well, yes.

George Foreman had five sons, all named George. All your guitars are called Martin.

The Beatles producer was called George Martin. In 1961 George produced a hit with a 1930’s song called You’re Driving Me Crazy by students from an art school band called The Temperance Seven. The rest is history. Trad jazz like this song waned, as did folk music. But many players and bands were inspired by the Beatles to take up instruments. They wouldn’t have made it if not for George Martin.

I had access to a Yamaha concert grand piano for a couple of years. Loved the tone. Preferred it to the Steinways I'd played.
In my(much)younger days, our family considered buying a grand piano. Local Miami store had a sale. We looked at a Kawai. What a sound. Maybe if we'd bought that, I'd have continued on piano.

My parents bought me a Kawai upright when I was a kid, because I wanted to learn piano. I loved playing that thing. It was a big expense for us.

Never did get very good on piano but I learned enough that I'm still able to use piano to write music. I guess that was enough for my purposes.

I was/am good enuff to play left hand bass and chords-on the right keyboard-so the real players can go nuts.(lessons from 7 to ~16 but never "good"-wasn't where my head was at)Played clarinet/sax through high school and as a Navy musician. Picked up bass in 67 while in the Navy. Found my musical home.:)

Just wanna make sure that it is not something that is invading my personal space. When there are links, to click it makes me a little skeptical.

Yeah, I got it. Went to it. Says I've been hacked(?). Offered to let me know who, how many...for a fee.

Yes. I don't click on links like they posted. How do I know that TB hasn't been hacked.

I got this as well. It has all the hallmarks of a scare tactic scam to get you to click a link that will cause you problems. If TB has been compromised and my account was impacted I would expect to be contacted by a site administrator directly.

Now the grumpy news. FedEx has my passport with the French visa I need and will deliver it Monday morning. I was scheduled to fly to Paris with my brother and his wife on Tuesday. I'll spare you the details, but they bailed on me. So I'm sitting in a Marriott Residence Inn in with 3 dogs trying to figure out how to get myself and the puppers to France.

Anyone know anyone wanting to fly to France from Chicago in the very near future? I need two volunteers.
