Then there's the Ami. I'd be too scared to go onto the highway with those type of cars.

And you can't lane-split with them, so stuck in traffic. Can't park on sidewalks, so good luck finding a space. That's why I bought a Vespa for my main driver. I'm taking over my niece's old Peugeot 307 beater, since she got her new (to her) GLA, in case I need to haul my dogs around.

Nope, not the little one or it's ilk like the Smartcar. I have visions of those rolling up under a semi and the trucker not even feeling the bump. ouch.

Super sadly, not a problem for me. I lost the ability to metabolize alcohol 4 years ago July. Over a 6-8 week period, it just went away. My last beer (one pint of Boddington's draught) gave me a 48 hour headache so bad, I couldn't get off the couch. Couldn't sleep. But had to walk my dogs. Eyes closed to a slit. Sunglasses on. Hand over sunglasses. Didn't help. Super painful. Only been in more pain twice (will spare you the details, but the worst one knocked me unconscious). I've had to switch to alcohol-free mouthwash and vanilla extract, it's that bad.

Quitting alcohol was the EASIEST thing I've ever had to do.

I hear ya. I have a friend that developed a similar problem. He would get sick if he drank any beer except something with citrus in it like a shandy. Weird.

I have a similar but less severe reaction with Busch beer. I can drink one and get a splitting headache. It's been decades since I last drank a Busch and I'm not going to try it as a test. Not a very good beer (IMHO) anyway.

Long gone are the days of having 15-20 beers in a day and not feeling bad enough to not do it again the next day. Ah, to be young and stupid again - NOT!

It took your post (with 1948) to remind me of this. A friend in high school had a green '48 Hudson Commodore with a straight 8. He modified it into a pickup. Left the full interior, but converted the trunk into an open bed. I'm trying to remember if this was the car with the extra seats that folded out from the back of the front seats. There was a TON of room in the back seat. Looked like this before the mods.

Saw this at Queen Wilhelmena State Park while on a scooter trip. Ah, the times when you could tell what make/model a car was at a glance.

Gotta love the sun shade in the windshield.

It's weird. Busch is brewed with rice and so is Bud. I like Bud on occasion and never had a headache like with Busch.

Ah, so to get to the gigs you'll carry your axe in a gig bag over your shoulder, headstock between the handlebars, yes? With class d amp in gig bag pocket and 1x10 strapped to the seat behind you!

ETA: I did that (less amp and cab) to/fro practice for over 20 years. It was a bit, um, interesting on the fro part. Ah yoof!

Then there is this. '63 Studebaker Avanti R2. One of my all time favorite cars and also ahead of it's time. This one is a survivor and belongs to a good friend in west TX. Hoping he gets the interior put back together before long. I want to drive it!

My oldies had a 53 Studebaker. 4 door, definitely not a Hawk, but for 53 , pretty advanced design.
