Special K is a good substitute for Rice Krispies if you are making those marshmallow squares. Problem is, once you make them, they last about a day.

An entire day? You have WAY more self control than I do. All I would need is 10 minutes and a lobster bib.Special K is a good substitute for Rice Krispies if you are making those marshmallow squares. Problem is, once you make them, they last about a day.

I, uhh...got nuthin'.Once I believed Special K is bland and nasty. Then I tried Regular K.![]()
Haven't added salt to any food for many years now. I use a Mrs Dash no-salt herb substitute and it tastes fine to me. I do get some salt in processed foods tho, and at restaurants. Canned soups I almost completely avoid as they're ridiculous in their high salt content! -I check all labels carefully... A little bit of salt, sugar, and fat, paranoia is not a bad thing.....I have to eat gluten free. Trust me, gluten makes everything taste better. I'm not sure why anyone would go gluten free by choice.
One time I purchased a box of snacks that were:
- gluten free
- sugar free
- sodium free
- GMO free
- and nut free
I opened the box and it was empty. My wife explained to me that the box IS the snack.
(slight exaggeration, but not too far off the mark. The snacks tasted like cardboard)
Rice Krispies squares
... right up there with slow cooker Little Smokies in grape jelly.
And yet. People I know still put these things out at parties![]()
WhatDo you put out at parties?

There's no Mrs. Dash &c here, either.
What do you find that works best for you?
I find that lemon juice works well on vegetables in place of salt.
Some salt substitutes are high in potassium. This can be a problem for people with kidney and hypertension problems.
Are you familiar with arbequina olive oil? It's a Spanish olive, small, with a large pit. Delicious! The EVO oil that comes from it is may favorite. There are California arbequinas now, so availability in the U.S. should be better.Black pepper. Unsalted butter, or olive oil, sparingly on vegetables.
We went to a movie party this past Saturday evening. A couple of Bugs Bunny cartoons, and Vertigo.People still have parties?
Is that the same stuff EVO frets are made of?The EVO oil that comes from it is may favorite.
