If I had to think about it, the years spent at the Olivetti and this thing probably explain why I still prefer my keyboards as flat and low to the desk as possible.
ETA: Looking at that link, it seems that's a later example (with some Lexmark branding added, and light-up setting indicators), but still close enough in form that it's not worth trying to dig up the "right" picture.

I learned to type on one of these at the spook school at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo in 1970. You kept going to class until you could type 30 words/minute. Took me four hours. They let me go early! Some other guys went there for days. 
The military version had a paper roll holder with a continuous feed. Listen in German. Type in English. And I got to listen to some pretty incredible "stuff" while on TDY at the US spook facility on Teufelsberg in Berlin. There were also British and French facilities on the hill.

It occurs to me that Two Notes Audio Engineering is located in the South of France. Might be an interesting place to tour, or at least check out their products.
