I drove a Massy Furgeson awfully similar to that one back in the 70's!
My Wife (who is a Nurse) said "Obviously, the pain medication is on target!" -
I laid my bike down once - A Harley Fat Boy - damn, don't ever want to do that again. The hell of it? I was only going about 6 miles per hour, turned onto a gravel driveway and down she went. I liked to never got that damn bike off my leg.
I like anything that can be rebuilt from the chassis up. One reason why I like vintage amps.

Picked up the mermaid at a little place called "Seahags" in Bradenton Fa. Really cool place. If anyone is ever in Bradenton , I highly recommend it. It's just before the bridge to Bradenton beach on Rt. 64. Oh , and the pants were torn before the wreck.

I think last time I crashed and burned I was trying to get the back end to kick out on a corner with a new knobby. I stayed up, bike went down hard, but no damage, except to the new pavement which had several deep gouges in it.
Some people that own vintage amps are big tools.
I can think of one local collector with deep pockets that pays a premium to buy every Fender tweed that comes up for sale.

I imagine that he has everything and multiple of them. Hundreds of amps, condition doesn't matter. I've come across some tweed deluxes that I was looking for when I'm out scouring shops and they always say that they are holding them for this guy. They know that he will pay way more than they are worth.
I know another guy that used to fly to Japan every month with amps and instruments. They were paying crazy prices for any vintage US gear. He made out very well.
These days, the vinage market has lost a lot of ground. The higher end current production amps are instruments are way better than they have ever been.

It's going to be somewhat difficult to admit to the stupidity on my part that caused this wreck but here goes. To simplify , I wrecked seahags (my lovely wife) bike into her truck. ................................(gives my TB friends some time to digest this statement.)
She doesn't have her MC licence and i was taking her bike up to the training area so she could practice on it. The bike started missing badly and I signaled her that I was going to turn around. (Big circular motion with my left hand.) She was behind me so I checked for any oncoming traffic (clear) and started my turn. Unfortunately , she picked this moment to pass me to go turn around at the next intersection and I plowed into the right side of her truck. ................(gives my self some time to digest this one.) Bounced off the truck and went down on the left side of the bike with one leg stuck under it. This created much excitement on the highway. It also managed to break my hand in two places. Seahag and a few other people came running asking if I was OK. The only thing that hurt was my hand so I told them yeah , I was OK. They lifted the bike off of me and we pushed it over to the side of the road. Seahag was an EMT and one of the people that stopped was a nurse so I was in pretty good hands. Sirens , fire truck , ambulance and cop car showed up in short order. "Motorcycle accident , get a neck brace." Crap , my neck was fine but the hand was starting to hurt like all get out. Even got a little dizzy from it (possibly light shock.) Into the back of the ambulance I go and off to the local emer. room. X rays ,the wrap up you see in the pic above , 2 1/2 hours and two pain pills later , I was released.
Off to the ortho in a couple of hours for the bad news and permanent cast.
All should be well . I broke my hand like this (albeit only one bone that time) several years ago and managed to get back to guitar playing shortly after the cast came off. Oh and for anyone with medical knowledge ,it is a boxers break that I suffered on my hand.
Doesn't sound dumb to me, not near as dumb as kicking the rear end out with new knobbies on new pavement! I've has the boxers fracture too. Looks funny, like an extra knuckle.
Sharkbait I have to commend you on your positive attitude! It'll go a long ways towards a speedy recovery. Glad the crash wasn't even more serious.
I rode a motorcycle for one season about 35 years ago and enjoyed it immensely. After several close calls with idiot drivers I put it away for the winter, then found out my wife was pregnant with our first kid and sold it the next spring. Sometimes I wish I could ride again, but then I remember how much I've busted myself up in 30 years of mountain biking. I figure if I can hurt myself with stationary trees, I have no business on the open road.

LOL! The local area is dead.. if it is over 500 bucks.. it won't sell! Plus there is only one shop in the area that will even consider consignment and he has his gray matter somewhere up in the clouds..
