Doctor wanted 27 days of taking it. Settled for 7 days after I explained that I would run out of heads to chew on.

Sorry to hear that. Cipro does a good job, but also can kill off the butt bugs. It's good to take probiotics during and after if you can find them. If not you can chow down on some bogoon Next time you come to the US, I think me and my wife could probably remove the gland for you. Need advance warning though so I can clean up the bench in the garage

Actually this happens only in the rarest of cases...kids get a choice many times, while other times the parents opt out of corporal punishment. It remains a highly effective deterrent with high school kids. FWIW I deal with low level rule breakers: skippers, persistent tardies, smokers, wise mouths, class disrupting, Romeo and Juliets, dress code violators...you know, the stuff we did when we were in school

My Father was a Colonel in the Army. During my (and my sister's) childhood - I received a "spanking" exactly one time when I argued with the old man about leaving the "fishing hole" when I was 10. ONE. We needed to get home for dinner and I threw a tantrum. Wrong move. He spanked my ass and it was forgotten about (by him) as soon as it happened

From that point on - until I was out of the house - all he had to do was look at us the right way (wrong way?) - and we knew that it was time to "cut the crap".

He was the most patient man I ever knew, never a cross word from him - unless you pissed him off....My Mother picked up on his "faces" and began using them on us. Worked like a charm

Oddly, so was mine when he retired...I required a few more swats though, and mom near had to have a shoulder replacement from all the ass beatings she rightfully gave me.

I was a...difficult...child.

Indeed, Indeed. I actually stole one time in my life. My old man was stationed at Fort Jackson, SC (he was an Infantry Officer) and we lived off post. One day, (I was about 8-9 years old) I was hanging out with a couple of friends and we wandered into the Piggly Wiggly. Next thing I knew, we were daring each other to "swipe" toys. We all grabbed something (I snatched a Duncan Yo-Yo) and took off for home - a block away.

I got home and stashed said Yo-Yo into the back of the built in outdoor grill. Unbeknownst to me, Mom was watching me from the kitchen window. Dad got home and we were in the middle of having dinner when he says to me "Boy, what were you hiding out back?" Well, being 8-9 years old I immediately caved and told him about it. He sent me to my room, to put on my PJs and go to bed.

About 30 minutes later, he comes into the room and tells me - "put your robe on and get in the car". He takes me over to the Piggly Wiggly, made me walk up to the Manager and hand him the Yo-Yo, and tell him what I did. I never felt so bad in all my life....spent the rest of the weekend in my room. When I FINALLY got out of the house on Monday my "friends" asked me what happened.....I was busted and they got away with it.....Dad had a good laugh about it until the day he passed.

Never stole anything again in my life......

When I was in primary school Florie Lucas, the principle, called me “The boy with the voice of an Angel and the heart of a Devil.” Shall we just say that I sang well but could be a “trifle” naughty.

I feel like this is a place where I can talk to guys my own age and express my feelings. And today I'm very upset and sad. I work in local city government, and this weekend, two of our employees had their lives touched with tragedy. A young lady I know in one of the departments (28 years old) was killed by her boyfriend, the legal assistant here in the same organization. I think I'm in shock. She had accepted another job in another location and I had talked to her Friday and told her we needed to do a selfie.

Well, she's gone now. And the man who shot her was always a quiet seemed to be level headed guy. The organization is shaken to its core. I talked with my wife this weekend but I need to say something so please forgive me for spouting here. Believe it or not, I know some of you of course online only better than I do many people where I live.

Please share a prayer with me for the couple whose lives are changed forever, one gone, and the other probably to spend his life behind bars.

Thank you. I'm in a state of shock, as are all the other employees. Small city hall, everyone knew each other. Makes me realize how quickly life changes, I'm glad I talked her Friday. Also makes me realize I can't tell my wife and family too many times how much I love them.

I too add my condolences Will. There are no words that I can utter that will make sense of a tragedy like this. I grieve for the young woman and for those who knew, loved and will miss her.

Booze and guns are never a good idea!
