Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

It's snowing again here. My Firebird is plowed in , my hose is frozen again and the wife says if I get any grumpier , she's gonna go get a motel room. Good thing one of my bands just wrapped up a practice or I'd be going totally bonkers right about now.

Last night a gulley washer came down. I was told by the local weather geniuses that it would be sleet, so I covered my small lime tree with a sheet. It has like 4 leaves on it that I'm trying to keep from freezing off. When I went out this morning, the sheet had gotten so drenched from rain that the tree was pulled down by the weight. (yes it Was Staked). There is 2 inches of water in the yard, under that the grass is turning into mud. And it's windy and cold. The crawfish don't like it, and even though I live across the road from crawfish fields, the cheapest deal on boiled crawfish is $6.00 a pound. And they're small, mostly head and pinchers. I've had three piles of dirt in the front yard for two months because I can't move it into the flower beds-- found moving mud is no fun. Slightly harder on the back. Weather man says no rain but it's going to drop below freezing tonight; so, I covered the little lime tree with a sheet again.

fnord!

The guys in my last band made me much grumpier than I usually am as they were all pretty much hacks; it was being really generous calling them musicians (I feel much better all ready, saying that! :bassist:).

The sun is out , the snow is melting , the temps. are well above what I have been dealing with for the last few weeks , my Firebird will be mobil after a couple more days of this , some kids just cut across my property and I didn't really care. I have a gig this weekend and a practice tonight. I can't find a grump anywhere. I think I'm actually happy. Do I need help????

Hell, Yes! It's been a long winter: your strings are dead, the controls on your amp are scratchy, you're out of sync with your drummer (if you ever were in sync to begin with), your fingers hurt after only a half-hour, and when you load for the first gig, as you look at the pile of equipment, you will ask yourself again why you play bass instead of flute, oboe, clarinet or trumpet. There. Does that make you grumpy? It should!
:hiding:

I was about to cancel my TB account today because I just felt too old for OT. Funny to find this thread on the same day.

55 turning 56 next month. Not having a good day. But, I did get a wheel alignment on my old Miata and it's better.

Current amp lineup these days includes an early Markbass head, from before they became available in the states. SWR 1-15 cab. The small amp was supposed to be a Roland CB100, which I gigged many times with.

Now, my weekly Monday night house gig is played with a lighter Schertler Jam 150 Pro. 150 watts into a single 8 and a tweeter.

Please give me a number when ya get a chance.

The freeze/thaws of the past few weeks have caused my gutters to fill with ice.
Today's warm temperature is causing the melting snow on the roof to hit the ice damns and come into my kitchen and bathroom. Knowing that I now need to repair the ceilings is making me grumpier than ever.

Just noticed my gutters are frozen and leaking stuff down the walls into the storage area. Tried to clear off the rear sidewalk but it's still frozen solid.Had to stick my SVT head on top of my speaker cab and now my back hurts. And there's some kid that's........... HEY... YOU KID....... GET OFF MY LAWN. ahhhhhh..... I think the grump is returning. I feel better now.:eyebrow:
