HEY!!!!!! GOF,s. WAKE UP! It's time to take our meds!

Whata laugh. It's 0630 here. The friggin cat has been crying all night. About an hour ago it decided to play with my feet. The friggin golden lab ran downstairs. Ran upstairs. Ran downstairs. I let out the most rancid fart I had to open the window at about 3am and leave it open for ten minutes. My wife slept through it.

Now that I'm up, the first thing I check is my gmail and there's a notice for this. It is in fact time to take my meds.

This thread makes me feel at home.

I pull the covers up in golden moments such as these. The wife wakes due to lack of air, and, voila! Dutch Oven!

I gotta share this , it's too unbelievable for band management so here goes. I play in two bands , one well established and a startup that a friend and I put together a couple months ago. Ran into the guy after not seeing each other for over 35 years. He wanted to sing and I had some spare time so WTH.
The drummer in the established band was leaving . We knew this was coming for months and he more than honored his obligations to the band. The drummer in the startup band found out and wanted into the established band. To be fair , he's ok but has no transportation so he really wasn't considered. Turns out he thought I was the big wheel in the established band ( I 'm the new kid on the block actually) and got miffed when he found out they found another drummer. He quits the start up band over this with a gig on the books one month away.As he's walking out the door , he says to me "if the new drummer in the other band doesn't workout , be sure to call me."
And I thought I had heard it all. Sheeeeeash.

Musicians are notoriously flakey. That can work to your benefit one day should find no way out of a bad situation.

Also, you're talking about a drummer here. Nuff said.

I'm only 37 years old but I have some grey in my beard, on my head, and in other hairy places. I also swear profusely while working on someone's amps so I guess I qualify...

Whada' ya' say, guys?
Should we let this kid in?
Other than his age, it sounds like he qualifies?

Maybe we could institute a new membership class for people like this? Something like "social" or "trial" membership?

No. You're just angry and frustrated. You have to have more years, grasshopper, to get past the anger and frustration flames of the campfire until, just as the flames of the campfire settle into a good bed of embers, the person mellows into that close, warm, steady-state that is part bliss, part disorientation, part disdain, part impatience with tomfoolery, and part desire to pass along the collective karma and wisdom as acquired through the ages, which is the true enlightenment leading to perfection in grumpiness to enable transition from this life, just as the embers give off their light and warmth to the benefit of all around, finally going dark and cold with the passing of the night, to merge into the light and warmth of the next dawn as the foundation of the next campfire.

+1 Here here... I couldn't have said it better myself.

Trust me on this, I couldn't have said it better... :o

Not yet ya don't youngling! i've been a bass player 15 years more than you've been alive! Just sayin'

When that there Testosterone stuff starts to decline THEN we'll consider it. :D

Unfortunately your nose and ears never stop growing. Mother nature can be cruel. She compensates by taking away your sense of smell and hearing and covers it up with hair. :bawl:

Ever look in the mirror and think, that isn't how I look!

We're all bass playing kids at heart. Anyone that feels like they've been going down hill should be welcomed. I started going down hill when I turned 21. Life is hard enough and we can all use a little help from our friends.

Is this a Gumpy OLD Farts club, or what?! Let him go start a “Not quite a kid anymore with a bad vocabulary” club.

Oh oh, the kid’s also in NEOhio…

<locks door, peeks out of curtain>

When I was that age, I had to walk to school. Up hill both ways. With an axe in my foot.

This is the only place on TB where us over the hill grey/white hair or bald, wrinkled guys with drooping nut sacks hang out.

I think he should call
