Sorry about the cable. I would have gone back.

They sound like jerks. They were listening to the song and not the talent or the potential.

Maybe it was an age thing. There's good money to be made on the geriatric circuit.

I can make another cable just like it and I didn't want to go back. It was marked with my name and phone number.

When you finish a performance and you know it was good, you can tell by the reaction of those listening. :D

My wife didn't get a good feeling from them from the start so she's happy.

I'm looking at something else now. :)

I HATE auditions. Luckily I haven't needed to for many years. I "audition the band" by going to one of their gigs. If they aren't working, I'm probaly not interested. (Yeak, I'm arrogant in addition to being old and grumpy.)

A few years ago, I filled in on bass while some guys who were starting a classic rock band auditoned drummers.
The first drummer got so drunk he passed out and fell into his drums during the audition.
The second one was an hour late showing up.
The third one couldn't play anything other than a shuffle.
I didn't go back after the third.

Closer in some ways Paul, thank you my friend!

DA……..
B!
Spring Time is coming-- My dog Duke is torturing critters in the yard/fields; snakes, lizards, field mice and yes, even rabbits. He's been bringing back empty turtle shells out the crawfish field across the gravel road. Should I be making pick guards out that for big $$$!?
--or does it have to be land turtle?

fnord!

Your story confirms my belief that there are three fundamental varieties of gigs:
Friends
Pros
Irritating wankers.

1. Had I stayed in the military I could be retired by now.

2. I tell the kids in my church to stop running and rough-housing as much as possible. And try to do the same whenever I am out in public too. :scowl:

3. Technically I'm just barely "over-the-hill". Does that mean the wetness behind my ears has dried by now?

4. Because of #3, I can still run a good ways ('cuz it's downhill).

5. I forgot what this one was going to be.

Went to the doctor today for my yearly physical. Being over 50 you know what that means. None to f#@&ing happy at the moment.

All is good, it's just the "procedure".

Hey waitress, a few more glasses of rum with a splash of Coke over here.

The "procedure?" If it's what I'm thinking , don't sweat it. They load you full of drugs , stick a nice warm blanket over you , you fall asleep and when you wake up there are no residual effects.Really no worse than having a tech check out your tube amp.I must admit however that the thought of getting a camera stuck three feet up you butt is a bit unnerving. The procedure itself is nothing compared to the six hours you will spend on the can during the "flushing" process. BTW , they found three polyps and removed them when I had my "procedure" probably saving me some rather complicated (and painful) surgeries later down the roads. Now...... bend over..... this won't hurt a bit. ;)

I just received my letter 2 days ago that they can fit me (it?) in now. Was going to throw it away butt now I'm not so sure. Easy one to pass on, that's for sure, especially with me not having any precursors. It's one of those things where early detection can make a big difference, apparently.

Yup. Man up and go do it. The procedure itself is a nothing. They knock you out and when you wake up you don't remember a thing. The flushing before is another thing but again nothing too bad. They give you a bunch of stuff to start about 12 hours before you go in to "clean you out." If they have any choice of flavors for the stuff , I highly recomend the pineapple flavor. Everything else is just plain gross. (Graphic content to follow) Yer gonna be pooping every 15 minutes for a while and as a result the ole starfish is gonna undergo some wear and tear. Vaseline helps..... a lot. Hey , you get your output jack on your amp head cleaned every once in a while. Just routine maintenance. Happy pooping.
