My son got me a Sports Illustrated calender for Christmas. It has a lot of nice pictures in it. I stare at it a lot. Now , about 4 posts up , Beans sticks in a picture of tubes. Freekin tubes. Tubes fer crissakes and I sat here and stared at it for 15 minutes. I never stared at my calender for that long. When I get done typing this , I'm gonna go give it one more peek. Fargin beautiful. Too bad I can't sniff 'em.

Damn . Great shot and makes me nostalgic as hell for my SVT, cabinets on both sides of the stage and roadies

And you couldn't pay me enough money to go back there and give up my Streamliner and Neox12s I can move all by my ownself .

Great to look at though... Just like SI

Arrrgh
Don't tell me this
I have 2 juniors. One in HS one in college.
I thought there might be light at the end of the tunnel in about 6 years.

Thanks for the photo Beans. Very comforting knowing the SVT was paid for when they were little.

Did you see the news stories about the little 18-year-old snot in NJ who is suing her parents to force them to pay her $650/week in child support, pay for her college tuition, AND wants them to pay for her legal expenses incurred in filing the lawsuit?

At least you don't have that kind of problem. :D

Yeah, I'm reminded of a Hooters sign i saw one day.
"Quick, hire a teenager while they still know everything!"

The problem with that situation is if the court actually decides to hear the case....THEN the fun begins. My uncle was solicitor for my home town for years and I'll never forget the shingle he had hanging behind his desk "First thing we have to do is kill all the lawyers !" For a lawyer to have this the first thing you see when you walk into his office is kind of eye opening.

The lawyer sign made me remember something.

When I was a kid the dentist used to have a huge picture on the wall of the waiting room of a terrified kid sitting in the chair fixated on the drill. Back then it was a gangly articulated arm with pulleys and belts on it. Same type that he had. The thing used to scare me to no end. After the visit, they would pass out candy to make you feel better.

Not everything in the past was better.

My grandparents were all born in the 1800's. They saw a lot of change in their lives. Two world wars. Cars. Airplanes. Space flight. Medical advances. Tubes! Radio and TV. A lot of advances to make life better.

I think that our generation has had to endure the most change in how we work and live our lives. People value different things today. To some extent, that is driven by technology. How it's applied is often not for the better. Harking back to simpler days with technology, such as tube amps from yesteryear, helps us regain some of what we have lost. Makes us less grumpy.

For those that manage to live a simpler life, attaining peace and contentment, I applaud you. For the rest of us, all we can do is strive.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm actually looking forward to 100 degree days with 80% humidity!
We're headed to Gulfport Miss for a gig next weekend & if it's cold there I'm seriously thinking of heading south for the rest of my grumpy life!

I hear ya, me too. I gotta load in tonight in the cold rain. I'm sick of winter, even if it ain't as bad here as elsewhere. Can't stand being cold, not even chilly. It's also putting a damper on my astronomy hobby. Just got a new telescope, but haven't had one warm night out with it yet. Not to mention riding my motorcycle. I hate winter.

54 here.

I stopped yelling at the neighbor brats and cats to get off my lawn a little while ago. You see, I'm an engineer. I like things like automation and sensors and it's just so much fun watching them get soaked from motion activated lawn sprinklers!!! The ball field's down the street, not in my yard and get your kitties a litter box, it's not my yard! Touch the sprinkler heads I got your butt on DVR.

And by the end of this month I'll have taken the concealed carry course.

Time for my number!

The father of that girl's "friend" is also her lawyer (the one trying to collect legal fees). Moral: don't let your kids be friends with parents who are lawyers (unless the lawyers are bona fide members of TalkBass!).

After the visit, they would pass out candy to make you feel better.

The main reason was so that the candy would rot your teeth and the dentist would get your return business!! :)

Well, I'm off to an audition that was sprung on me yesterday evening. I spent a fair amount of time on Stevie Wonder's I wish only to find they've dropped it from the set list!!! :(

I hate auditions!!!!
