Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

I have too many friends that can no longer come out and play. Sorry for your loss.

I’ve seen the ravages of living in nursing homes. Not a good way to exist.

My Dorothy baked some cookies for Cheryl and her visiting family members. When I took them over she looked as if a great weight had been taken off her shoulders. Then I knocked her mailbox off the wall! Clumsy sod that I am. I went back a little later and fixed it. It’ll never come off the wall again! :D

QSC TouchMix-16 Touchscreen Digital Mixer

This is the one imma b get :D pretty quick I’m thinking... used one before, sounded fine, interface stupid easy, records great, etc etc etc, and of course, etc...

Good news Sir Paul, the Handy Man. Both that your friend feels some relief that he's in a better place, and that you have secured her mailbox with 1/2" Grade 8 mil-spec bolts.

Handy man, that can be taken either way :D You'll like this: I used to work with a falla named randy fiddler. And we had a UK office and they got a good laugh outa that name!

And now for something completely different:

(warning: F-bombs, foul language, but then, pretty clean for Iggy)

Damn, he can sing anything... to perfection!

This is a story,
About Johnny Rotten David Bowie
He may be gone,
But he's not forgotten.

My family lost a great friend last Tuesday. The funeral was this past Saturday. What a kick in the gut... Buddy was like 6'5'', and always had a full head of red hair, and a thick, red beard. Dude was a "chit talker;" he loved me because I played left guard my senior high school football season. He was a Mobile, AL: All City tackle. He lived on Dolphin Island and loved to go gig flounders. I never thought that he would ever die... such a strong, funny, life of the party type. Even the pastor that laid him to rest broke up crying because Buddy was a friend of his. Mortality breaks my heart. I'm not sure I'm cut out to watch and help as my parents die (Both 70), but guess I'll toughen up and do the best I can.
fnord!

Everyone finished Christmas shopping?

Or should I ask, anyone started? For years and years I screamed to shop locally, keeping $$ in the pockets of friends and neighbors... until friends and neighbors stopped selling anything unique, not available everywhere else cheaper....

But wuddevah, I’m done with the exception of a couple of gift cards...of course y’all need to remember I prefer blue, large, and chocolate

I’m younger than some and older than others. I’ve learned a thing. Don’t be too quick to toss old gear that’s in great shape. We tossed all those Reel to Reels only to find the price go through the roof because the metal guys wanted that warmth in their recordings.

If it sounds good it sounds good. Sometimes new doesn’t mean it’s better made or sounds better. So why do those ladies dance with his Dad? Because they can. Same goes for gear. Be selective and self select. :)

Was on the subway on Saturday going to a studio. At every stop someone kept pinching my bum. I thought that it was the girl standing next to me, I didn't say anything. When we got off my wife told me it was her, she wanted me to move away from the door so people could get in and out. Sigh.

In a department store yesterday, a lot of people were sick. The girl at the cash was blowing her nose and wiping while she served my wife. I take a bit of time off, I don't want to get a cold or the flu for the next two weeks. Best to avoid crowds.

This reminds of me of one of the better Reader's Digest "funny thing happened to me stories" that people used to submit for a $75 prize (if published). I loved reading those when I was growing up...actually still do.

In fact I recall reading that 60's issue about the Money Pit that apparently motivated those two brothers on the History channel to do their current exploration on Oak Island.

I just read about the story of Oak Island, interesting.
I keep thinking there have to be better technological ways of answering the questions, but it appears that Oak Island (like a few other places on earth) is an area where electronic equipment does not always perform with consistency or as designed.

The approach they're taking now should be more successful than any used in the past IMO. However, given all the brute force digs over the years, I wonder what remains to be discovered other than flooded cavities of collapsed rubble where the integrity of the original "whatever it was" has been compromised.

And doesn't the legend state one more person has to die before da bootay gets found?

Interesting series to watch. Most is on youtube. Half of each episode is a rehash of past episodes.
something like 7 or 8 have to die...?
