Dental update and conclusion:
I went this morning to get the offending molar pulled. I guess I really lucked out with the dentist we have here in the Philippines. I hate getting needles in my mouth worse than the pain of dental procedures. In this case though, I have no complaint. He was patient and gentle with the needle and even though he had to repeat the injections ("your a big guy"), it was pain free.
The extraction was over before I realized it. I had to ask him twice if he got the tooth and if he got it all. Then he showed me the infected part of the tooth. It was absolutely the right call to pull it.
Wow.
The total bill: first visit and xray $10. Second visit for extraction $30.
I'm a happy camper.

My poor right front tooth cracked, and wore down due to reshaping and rebuilding. I'm getting a temp put on tomorrow. Next month I'm getting an implant. Because it's PHS (Native Health Care) and I have Blue Cross Premera, I'm only paying 20%. My final cost after an enamel implant with titanium rods is $500. But PHS and Blue Cross are sharing the balance. I've asked how much but my dentist says I don't want to know. I guess I should just be grateful I live in a time where this can be done in one day.... Plus I'll have my two lovely lady dentists working on my mouth... Once I quit working the blue chip treatment ends and my copay will be through the roof... that's why I'm scared to quit for at least 3 years...

Numbers ain't the be-all & end-all of who we are, thank goodness. Attitude goes a long, LONG way toward making us who we TRULY are. It's a pity that, sometimes, others' perceptions don't always take that into account. When anyone dismisses us GOFs as just GOFs they make a sad, for them and us, mistake.
