Found out this morning that one of the guys I would have coffee with over the past few years had just passed. 86 years old, went in for a double bypass but his kidneys and liver weren't in the best of shape and began to fail. He never recovered. Neat guy, his wife is doing ok and still kicking, she was a child during WW2 in the Holland under German occupation. Her father was sent to a labor camp, eventually he escaped and lived in the forests with the aid of residents friendly to his plight and survived the war. Listening to the stories being told first person are so, so different than reading about them.
Sincerely sorry for your loss, friend. When someone like that passes, it's everyone's loss.

One day, there will be no one to tell the truth of the atrocities first hand. That will be the same day the atrocities are repeated, and supported by the masses. And the masses will be sold that it's for the common good... by a slick talker.

I'm here.
Minus two teeth but fully recovered from the dental party that was held in my mouth.
Had a pretty good shake of an earthquake last week. 5.5 on the Richter scale. Epicenter about 5 miles away. Cracked the wall where it was repaired after last year's big one.
Gotta figure out a way to put a facade over the cracked area as it will just happen again. No danger of collapse unless it is an Armageddon sized shaker.

Working on recording and producing a really nice Christmas song my daughter wrote.

Hey Brian! Good to hear you are still rockin' Mindino!

We should be there in about three years if all goes well. Still planning to land in Bicol.

I'm afraid the time has come for me to take my licks. Every, or every other Saturday, I have to pay for my sins. Not for just the past week or two, but for all my sins over the past 33+ years. Part of my punishment includes not knowing what I've done wrong. This secrecy ensures I'm ripe and ready for the next round of punishment, not having any idea what i may have done wrong and being condemned to repeat those transgressions. I must endure hours of torture in silence, else the punishment is extended. I'll be going through hours of grueling pain, suffering and loneliness, unlikely to end before sunset. I believe it involves some secret Filipino black magic voodoo stuff. My wife simply calls it shopping.

She's got me in the anxiety phase right now. This is the worst part. I have to sit here in silence while she gets ready to begin the routine. When will it start? How long will it last this time? What have I done wrong this week? Did I hold my mouth wrong when she asked me to do something? AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGG! I can't take it.

Might this be a little like her waiting for you to get orders to see when and how long your next deployment would be when she was the dutiful Navy wife??? ...and we thank her for her service as well!

And she put up with me for 33+ years!

I survived. I don't know what I did last week, the week before, or several years ago, but it must have been bad. She kept buying plants. Plants, plants and more plants! And we all know what that means. Digging. So after a half day of torture, I was assigned a good hour of hard labor. Woe is me...

Bro @BadExample that's why we hire the neighbor's teenage son. To do the digging! :D

In my own defense, I was ordered to dig, so I digged. She has a bolo and is damned good with it.

What would Jesus do?

Probably run like hell.

Sat down and watched the wedding last night, Saturday. Throughly enjoyed the event. I liked that Charles walked Meghan down the aisle. He does, after all, have to be useful for something! The best part for me was the ‘Black’ part. The choir singing Stand By Me. The young black lad playing his arse off, British word, on his Cello. His complete and utter mastery of the instrument was inspiring. As he was playing I thought about his Parents. How proud they must be of their son! I was proud with them too.

The two Princes, how like their wonderful Mother they are. Diane was the best thing to happen to the Royal Family in decades. Pity that her Prince broke the vows he took in the church at their wedding so easily. Still that’s water under the bridge now. In her turn, in her own way, Meghan too will alter the family, I believe for the better.
