Thank God you hung in there brother. Tough disorder to live with. I’m proud that you held up to the hardest test.

I agree with @Stumbo . I lost my brother when he was 53 unexpected. Please feel free to PM me if you wish. God bless all here may we grow stronger through the tribulations.

Roll call! All fingers and toes report please! :laugh: I'm feeling a little blue even though it's Friday and I get to sleep in tomorrow. I'm 66 and still working because I bought a new car for my wife and we have 3 1/2 years left to pay it off. To be honest, I do love my job and love the people I work with. Well, most of them anyway. :laugh: Some days it seems harder to get up and get going. I sometimes have to go to my recliner and sleep there for a couple hours before wake-up time because my hip gets sore. And when the alarm goes off more and more I want to turn it off and keep sleeping. Is that what is a sign of retirement? LOL! But when I get to work I swing into action, taking calls and fixing small issues and people are grateful to me.

Life is good and for all of us, it's good to be alive. Thanks GOF's for listening to me sometimes whining. But I know life is good. I hope you all have a good weekend, weather's nice in Sitka so I'm pulling out the barbie! :cool:

Present ! . . . . but there's no accounting for me.

Been losing sleep worrying about timing involved moving my electrical weatherhead today. Rolled the dice to try it on Friday despite fears of the inspector not arriving in time to get power reconnected before the weekend. SIL kept saying it'd only take 15 minutes from power off to power on. Yeah, right, not in my experience. Sure enough, power company was 2½ hours late to cutoff. Then it took 20 minutes to tie-in, get inspected and power on!!! HA! I was never so thrilled to be wrong!! Guess that's why SIL is so good at everything he tries, it all works out for him. So glad he takes an interest in this house he'll inherit someday.

Every Saturday I’m up around 4:30-5:00AM, maybe a half hour earlier than the other days, and we get out as soon as we can. In good weather, the birds start squaking close to sun up. Nature’s alarm clock.

Last Sunday I was on bus and saw a young kid offer his seat up to an old lady. You don’t see much of that these days. The problem is, the old lady was my wife. She politely declined and stood there quietly with that look she sometimes gets on her face. About ten minutes later, she turned to me and said, I guess it’s official, I’m on old lady. I told her, that’s what happens when you go out without makeup on. She agreed and laughed. On the walk home we dropped into a shop and she bought herself a new dress. Shopping is good therapy I was told. I replied that I find that washing the car is theraputic. I’ll be washing the car tonight in preparation for Saturday. She’ll be helping me.

That is too funny. It reminds me of many years ago, when my hair turned prematurely gray. I was 25 at the time. I was amazed when people, older than me, referred to me as sir! I used that to my advantage a few times.

A few years ago, when Circuit City was still around, I went in to purchase a sub woofer for my truck. The kid behind the counter asked if this was for me. I said yes and asked him why. He said that he thought it was a gift for a much younger person. I smiled and got my pay back when they went out of business :D:thumbsup:.

Found out this morning that one of the guys I would have coffee with over the past few years had just passed. 86 years old, went in for a double bypass but his kidneys and liver weren't in the best of shape and began to fail. He never recovered. Neat guy, his wife is doing ok and still kicking, she was a child during WW2 in the Holland under German occupation. Her father was sent to a labor camp, eventually he escaped and lived in the forests with the aid of residents friendly to his plight and survived the war. Listening to the stories being told first person are so, so different than reading about them.
