Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Thanks for the empathy, baddy and beans. No, no relief from my first injection(s) almost 2 weeks ago. Since doc said relief can take "a couple weeks" after the injection(s) I'm beginning to suspect it's gonna take more injection(s). [sigh] Tramadol takes some edge off the pain, but never gets rid of it. beans, you nailed it with the zapps at night. And I'm not talking about potato chips! I exercise the leg muscles with minimal pain in the pool. With no weight on it I can kick and " bicycle" around for hours while the wife swims, too. Anyone suggesting land based walking on it really gets my grump going. But I just grit my teeth and smile.

Damn brother, sorry no relief yet. I had hope you would have some relief by now :( You may well need another round to reap the benefits. I hope not. As you learned, that !@#$'s no fun.

Have you decided what to get? I'm still sad when I think of your dead or almost dead Impala.

A chevy Equinox. In terms of wheel base, weight, and engine HP and torque, it is the closest GM offering to the Impala in an SUV.

I really like the appointments of the bottom end model. No chrome or flash. No roof rack. No trailer hitch. No AWD. But I like the bigger engine in the stepped up model, 2.0L Turbo vs 1.5L turbo. I see it as a safety issue. At least that’s what I keep telling myself. Unfortunately that model comes with some extras that we don’t like.

If I have to order one, it could take two months if it has to be built. The lower end one is in stock.

Present and here. No accounting for how I've managed to keep all my fingers, thumbs and toes all these years. Dang this sciatica, though. Can't stand to walk far or stand hardly at all. Lately, can't even find a comfortable position to sit or lay down. Nights are forever tossing and turning. Putting my dad's, and also later my mom's, cane to constant use.

Other'n that, life is good. Wife and daughter, who lives close, take good care of me. 16 year-old grandson eager to run errands for me in his new, to him, old pickup truck. Friends and relatives calling and visiting with well wishes. Wife still helps at her favorite sewing/quilting store, when needed. And I can still pluck or strum my stringed things a bit for my own amusement.

So, get off my lawn!!! . . . unless you've got a lawnmower with you.

:bassist:
I had a sciatic nerve problem in '82. A friend who is a nurse recommended a(legitimate)doctor who did a lot w/ pressure points. He got me up on the table, pushed a few spots, and when I tried to go through the table said that must be it. Gave me an injection(I don't remember what) and after 2 weeks, it's NEVER bothered me again. I wish you results as good as mine.

Hi G,
My Sciatica was bad enough that I couldn’t walk up stairs. Short distances on level ground were barely tolerable. My surgery was six weeks away, so out of desperation I bought an inversion table in an effort to mitigate the pain. After three weeks of use, I was so much better that my surgeon canceled the surgery. Aside from little twinges from time-to-time, I’m cured! By far the best $350 I’ve ever spent!

I'm here , all my parts are here and I have absolutely nothing planned for this weekend. I hope weeds don't start growing out of my armpits. The old band restart isn't going to happen , again due to the BL / lead singers health taking a dump on him again. We had two dates booked that have been cancelled and my regular band had two members taking vacations this month so I don't even have a gig this month. Supposed to rain every day for the next week or so.
And now for the good news. We ended up with a few extra bucks this summer so in two weeks Seahag and I are taking four days on the Boardwalk in Ocean City Md. This is absolutely my favorite vacation spot and I missed out on it last year due to the broken hand from the motorcycle accident. Think I'll take the old twelve string and go busking for booze dollars on the Boardwalk.
Four tomato plants doing very well out in the garden. Fresh 'mater sammiches soon.

Still have all 10 fingers and toes, had a bit of a rodeo tonight. Nobody got hurt and I was able to end it well with a minimum of fuss.
Good to hear, because there are still great ideas in your head that need to eventually show up as gear on our gigs, so be careful out there! :)

Lots of back pain out there. me too. Been doing chiropractic every 2-3 weeks, massage every 2-3 weeks (no happy endings ). I'm calling interventional pain clinic on Monday grumpy as hell from pain and numbness. Course being 70 pounds overweight and lifting 300 pound people at work just doesn't help. Thank God I don't have a lawn to mow, I live on the side of a mountain.
Stay off my mountain !
