I've passed 4 kidney stones the largest 10 mm it took 11 days and looked like a cactus when it finally dropped. ouch just thinking about it

I've dealt with kidney stones 7 times. 2 of them required surgery. I won't describe the surgey, but you can read about it here:

Lithotripsy - Wikipedia

I went through that related to an extended bout of food poisoning. The stones were an added bonus.

A doctor told me that passing a big kidney stone is worse than a difficult child birth. So say women who have done both.

That was years ago. Now I drink and monitor my daily intake by counting the glasses.

The stuff we endure to get older..there’s been more than one one occasion I’ve been tempted to throw meds away, caution to the wind, and live as dangerously but high return of satisfaction as possible...

Then the wife smacks me upside the head and returns me to reality

Which way is really reality........I have Tourette's syndrome without my meds I'm like Joe Cocker when he sings all the time and I make strange noises.....I can be alot of fun in engineering meetings....... but with the meds you would never know......I've had it my whole life, it can be fun at parties too!!!!!!

Really reality is the side that says if I stopped taking scripts, y’all would be bidding on some really nice guitars, basses, mics, amps, etc, from my widow’s eBay account in about 6 months
Ken sir, I find that post very upsetting. I consider you a good friend and would be very upset if something happened to you. I expect your honorable and lovely wife would find a better way to dispose of your beloved gear in a way that honors you, like maybe a music school donation. Besides, we're not stupid. We'd find a way to contact her off-forum and buy up all the goodies at half the flea-bay price. Sheesh :rollno::rollno::rollno:
