I don't think that smokerpot, er, uh, @toprekoms, that is, is grumpy all the time. Maybe he was just auditioning for us. I'd say he qualifies.

My wife is of German heritage and my mother-in-law used to make Scrapple for breakfast. When I got out of the army I was visiting an ex and had Cincinnati German Style Scrapple and eggs. It was delicious!

There is a great TV show called something like "Strangest Animal Friends" or something like that. I've only seen an occasional episode, but these posts remind me of that show.

My horses like the barn cats a lot. I've come in a few times to see one of the cats sleeping on one of the horses.

Sorry to interrupt but I just saw the bowl of figs, need advice, I have about 6 fig trees and they are loaded with figs, not being educated in figs I have always just waited til they bust open to pick them,they are real sweet that way, can I just pick them as you did in the bowl, then how do I fix them ???? been picking blue berries for a week now!!!!!!!

You've already been doing it right for max flavor and sweetness. We're picking many a day or two before that stage, so they're still quite sweet and shelf life is a lot longer. Like a lot of tree fruit, it's not ripe unless a gentle rocking motion is enough to break it off the branch. Preserves like jam or chutney are nice, and my wife's also done some great fig cakes. But if you have a lot of them drying is pretty much the default.
