At one time we had a wonderful groomer just round the corner. When the dogs came back they had little bows in their fur. Dorothy called them their "party dresses!" And yes they would all strut their stuff. :D

A little smile from Bailey: Worrying about Tia being so little and getting cold we bought her a ‘beddies’. Just a round tube of foam with a bottom covered with a cloth slip on cover. One day while we were making our bed Bailey walked over to this beddies, pulled it out and lay on it. Her chest wouldn’t even fit but we got the message. We went and bought her a big cushion with dog graphics on it. She was then content though sometimes only her head would be on it and sometime her body with her head on the floor. :D

We were treated to award winning apple pie for lunch today, one of the bonuses for working thus gig for over 30 years... everybody feels sorry for us. Had scallop chowder for lunch yesterday, it was super yummy!

The irony is...if one is not in the oil biz, the the Permian Basin is a gawd-awful hell hole in which to live. Hyper inflated prices on everything imaginable. We have the highest cost of living, comparable to luxury subdivisions in metroplexes elsewhere. Rents have risen an average of 20% in one year.

Teachers are critically short supply, as most starting salaries cannot cover cost of living here; gas is highest in the state by 15%; I could go on for hours.

And for those old enough, when the next bust hits (and it will) it will be uglier than ever before

They can put one in my back yard if they pay me enough.

Some apparently get enough to retire and buy some nice toys. Not too bad.

I recently saw a farm for sale with a row of solar panels, each mounted on pedestals in a back field. Not a big gawdy looking thing. The electric company installs and maintains it, they have a 20 year lease. After that the property owner owns the installation. In this case, they pay the property owner $25K per year. The sale of the property was contingent on the new owner carrying on with the lease.
