Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Be careful copping changes from the piano and guitar charts. I got fired from a boat gig out of Miami when the singer we were backing that week saw me and said there was no way she was gonna have me "faking" her set. She wouldn't even let me finish the rehearsal.
Now that I think back I probably got fired more for telling her her charts were barely legible and what you could read was full of mistakes............and that she had a tin ear and a fat ass. Boy she sure didn't like hearing me criticize her charts....
Just an educated hunch... it might have been the fat ass comment that did you in ;)

My progressive lenses have really been bugging me lately. I think they were probably instrumental in the recent broken toe adventure.
My progressives never worked well for me. Each eye was different enough and since the prescription for each eye didn't match up exactly to be the progressiveness, I could never focus concurrently at the sane place in the lenses. Tried twice. Water of money for me.

Despite trying, I don’t adapt to bi/tri focal lenses. Same with progressives. Drives me nuts. Sore neck muscles and eye strain. I wear a visor up close. Use a big screen. Drive with far field glasses.

I can't be bothered with having 3 pairs-or more-of glasses. Esp. back when I was driving 18 wheelers. Sometimes I might look like a live bobblehead, but it gets it done.

My first encounter with bi-focals was embarrassing to say the least. I was part of an exhibition team penning (a competitive horse-cattle event) in front of about 500 people and I lope my horse into the herd to make the first cut and realize that I can't read the numbers pasted on the cattle's backs. I'm looking through the bottom of the lenses (made a little worse because I was on a very tall horse) and I'm dead in the water. As I'm struggling, the announcer, who was a good friend of mine, immediately figured out what was going on and got the audience involved with calling out our numbers. Once I figured out which cattle I needed it was fine, but now I have to look way down so that I can see higher on the lens. If it had been competitive, it would have cost me money ;)

I have three pairs of glasses I use daily. Dark lenses/no bifocal, computer/no bifocal and general purpose transitions with kryptock bifocal lenses.

When I went to bifocals I was still working daily high rigging. Regular bifocals and transitions take up the whole bottom of the lens which meant I had to look over the top to look down to the deck 50'-100'+ away....somewhat awkward especially with fused C1and C2 vertebrae. With the Kryptok patch I could still look out the side of the lens and see the floor and that's what I've used for twelve years or so. And transitions....walking the beam in sports arenas with those ******** things and that weird blurry line was terrifying. I actually climbed onto the catwalk after a load out one night and stomped on them.

Those type of big cats need to stay in the wild.

That just proves if you don't handle the problem up front, it'll just come back and bite you in the ass later! We don't have wild cats left here. Coyote are a problem. I've fed a couple a lead pill, but hated doing it (that was after I grew soft). They don't go into populated areas at all unless they're messed up in the head from rabies. Deer now, will go anywhere to eat if they figure out it's safe and not a hunted area. My mom has a lot of trouble with those.

it is indeed a 4 legged money pit. American quarter horse we bought for.my daughter sweet as could be but super lazy and dumb as a rock. well, lazy anyway. I think we were the ones dumb as a rock
I was part of the AQHA's 50th anniversary "state by state" program honoring past and present competitive champions at state fairs across the country, I represented the past cutting champion in California. At that time (1990?) I owned the #1 Quarter Horse in CA (and #11 in the nation) in lifetime winnings in cutting. I inherited this horse when the ranch wound down operations after the owner's wife was diagnosed with ALS. I had been responsible for several of the retired horses on the ranch, and he was one of my favorites. I rode him for 3 or 4 years after that, he was a horse that I never could have afforded and it was a wonderful opportunity to step up to the big leagues. He was 1/2 brother to Freckles Playboy & Colonial Freckles, a 1967 model.
