Who's being treated like a naughty child? No one got any warnings, no points were issued, no one got banned.. A thread was simply moved to a more appropriate location. It happens every single day. How are the GOF's going to drift apart? Nothing about the threat itself is different except its location. Also, if you're implying that paying money allows you to be exempt from rules, you are sorely mistaken. I give to my local police organizations, that doesn't give me cart blanche to drive however I wish without reprocussions.

You get to Misc the same way you get to any other BG forum. Click Forums at the top of the page, click General Forums [BG], then click on Misc, or amps, or Off Topic, whatever you want.



You posted in the thread after it was moved, you clearly had no issues.



You're going to stop visiting a thread (or TB?) because a thread was moved? Ok...



A group of moderators, myself included, and the opinion was unanimous.

That's called a redirect, and it is often only there for a short amount of time (48 hours or less, but can be set manually by the moderator that moves it). It does not get bumped to the tops of the Amps forum whenever a new post is made. It is already on the second page of Amps, and by the weekend will probably be on pages 3 or 4.

As stated already by several people- if you get alerts for threads, and click on the alert, it will bring you to the thread, not where it used to be.

I-and others-just don't see why you(the group) would take it upon yourselves to change something that doesn't need changing. Did something offend you?

I wasn't the one that brought it up in the Moditorium nor was I the one that moved it, but I can say this. As mods we're supposed to monitoring our forum. Unfortunately there's almost no way we can read every single post. There are only so many of us, with more posts every day. But we do usually glance through threads. If there's a thread in a section that we realize no longer has to do with the subject matter of the forum it's in, it's not uncommon for them to get moved. No one gets in trouble or anything like that, the thread just evolved.

It's not like the thread was moved to the Lobby (where only Supporting Members can post). Nothing about the participants changed. I'm struggling to understand why the move is such a big deal for some people.

Very kind of you to step in to try and elaborate on the decision. To speak only for what I know myself-- many of us are older musicians with a bent toward technical knowledge about-- amongst other things-- amplifiers. Some thread members are quite respected in the field of amplification. Some are still working in the bass amplification industry today. While we may ramble about stiff necks and knees, we know that there are a couple things we share in common-- the love of electronics particularly bass amps, and most of us are veterans. And where there are veterans-- there is camaraderie-- amongst technically minded people. It's something I can't explain-- it's a first hand experience.

Having said that-- knowing that most GOF's are technical experts, it might felt somewhat like a "demotion" of sorts. Others might have felt it was an unfair move since this thread has lived in Amps since conception. I do not condone nor condemn the decision made, I'm merely making some suggestions.

Speaking only for myself, I don't expect any special treatment because I am a paying member. I only try to ask questions that I hope are fair. I don't believe anywhere in the last few pages anyone suggested they should receive special treatment of any kind, just some consideration for a group of grizzly old farts who happen to have a love of amplifiers and technology and often mix in a bit of ailments, horses, and gardening.

Yeah, I suggest taking Amps out of the title; we've moved way beyond that topic.

The GOFs are getting Grumpier by the day...maybe some B12 or a bit of Sun would help. :-)
