Welcome to GOFdom!

What part of Ioway? My mom's side came from around Ames, in the farmlands. Dad came from Turin, pop 50ish?, near Lincoln I think. Been years since I've been to Turin. Relatives remain in and around Ames, so we trek back there from time to time.
Bro @BadExample haven't you kind of taken up the torch for numbers? Maybe you could give @mikeoso a number?

Somehow I missed seeing this thread until now. However, pretty sure I qualify. 69 years old, retired 13 years ago as a high school teacher. And if 32 years of other people's teenagers doesn't make you grumpy, running an animal shelter will. I live in the country in Iowa, surrounded by corn and soybeans, and drive a 1997 Ram with 232000 miles on it. Also a veteran. I play only acoustic instruments, though several have pickups in them.

So, am I in?
Mike welcome aboard from the sunny south, Georgia mtns.......My sister is a retired school teacher.30 years also, she taught 1st 2nd 3rd grade for 15 years and it drove her crazy, so she switched to Librarian, which paid the same, since she had a masters in Library science and finished 15 more years......now she has been volunteering as an assistant part time, I don't know how!! I'm happily retired and don't do much of anything anymore and loving it......

Ugh, well, I did try to pick up the torch. It was hot and heavy. I dropped it.

I don't think I've ever seen a number issued past 150. Should we just start at 200? There have been many new old grumps come on board since the great B-String stopped giving out the numbers.

I am a very poor substitute for B-String.

I, for one, will trust your judgement on the number thing(and other things, too).

I thought that the member number assignment was now fully automated.

The member number is the number of the visitor’s first post. Maybe a BadExample, but your post is #12165. If this were your first post here, that would be your club membership number.

It makes it much easier for old folks to manage.

I'm amused by the expressionless coat and tie wearing yuppie types in the audience. There were very few people who 'felt' it-or wouldn't dare let on that they felt it.:cautious:

Otis Rush recorded the song in 1956. The bass player on the track was Willie Dixon, who wrote the song.

I noticed the kids sitting on their hands with interest. I’m guessing that performance was mid 60’s.

Hey fellas, night boss is out of surgery and in the VIP recovery room. Surgeon just came by and said it all went well. I think she's pretty buzzed on the meds since she is laughing at my jokes rather than giving me the look.
Excellent news, bro Bad! Here's to her quick and full recovery and like GP said, hope she's wagging her finger at you very soon!
