Here is a photo I just came across, some very old rock art! I used to go on a lot of multi day river rafting trips in the south west. After about 3 days everybody would forget all their cares, job, bills, whatever, and it would just be a blast! My friends who had been

doing trips for years knew where the off the beaten path ruins, rock art and other cool stuff was. Get off the boats, hike for a bit and come to very cool stuff!

A new tuner from Peterson, looks interesting.

I choose to use a headstock tuner(these days the D'Addario NS Micro-which is nearly invisible to the front)partly because of space-or lack thereof. I stand-or prop my fazaza on a stool-less than 3' in front of my amp, my mic stand just in front of me. I wouldn't be able to see a stomp box tuner and rarely am able to see my one pedal that I do use. Pedal tuners are great for people who have space, we don't."That's me in the corner"

Playing in tune and in time is highly overrated.

I have an old Peterson strobe tuner, I need to calibrate it some time. The digital tuners are accurate (at tenth of a cent), some have USB ports so that software revisions can be loaded. I use a Perterson tuner app on my iPad, it works well. My bench tuner is their StroboPlus HD.

I have a clip on tuner as well, use it for acoustic. I don't like to look at it while I'm playing, the spinning makes me dizzy.

An advantage of Peterson tuners is that they have built in and programable alternate tunings. They can also be used with any instrument you can think of. The advantage of the ten available colors is that you can assign them based on your presets. So a special tuning can be assigned a color.

The built in buffer is good for long cable runs.

Seeing a tuner is my problem as well. Well, seeing anything without my glasses is a problem. I never wear them when I play.

I had completely missed you in that image.

Is that a mini drum kit like the Lugwig Breakbeats?
TBH. I have no idea. They are smaller than his previous set, which he sold after buying those. That, BTW, is our second tightest spot. The place(restaurant/lounge)we're playing Friday night is even more cramped. People pretty much hafta dance by their table.

Yeah what's with shows where people want to dance and the venue prohibits dancing. Some goon comes along and tells people to sit * down or be immediately shown the exit. Dancing is just kind of organic to what people do, in my experience. And of course everyone singing along makes for a good night.

Then there is of course the act on stage that nobody wants to see or hear .... The corollary to that is how some bands get booked together. There is the night a rising Boston band called Human Sexual Response is booked as the opener for Jimmy Cliff. And nobody knows anything about what's going on with this. Hip Boston new-wavers take the T to see a show and wind up in Jamaica..

I had to download to picture and increase magnification 800% to see you! And even then you looked almost transparent. Cool to see you play though..
