There’s a theatre nearby the runs art films. A lot of older folks in packs attend matinee screenings. They’re mostly gone by 4PM. I guess that they must be flocking to the early bird restaurant specials.

I often get stopped by them for directions when I’m out. To me, they look like they’re in their eighties. They probably aren’t. Funny how you never think of yourself as being as old as old people.

Some players like impossibly high action. Jamerson and McCartney are two examples. Many report that they couldn't play their instriuments when given the chance.

I have had the opportunity to play both Percy Jones' and Gary Willis' basses (two of my favorite bassist!). The action on Percy's custom Ibanez was way too high for me to play for more than a few seconds; In Gary's custom Ibanez' case (the bass, not the case ) his action was what Entwistle would ask for as to string height: "I want them to be coming out of the back of the neck." It was total buzz city for me, but when Gary played the bass it was amazing!

How can Martin players be grumpy after huffing the fragrance of the wood at the soundhole? First thing that I do when it comes out of the case.

How to Avoid Being a Grumpy Old Man or Woman

I have had the opportunity to play both Percy Jones' and Gary Willis' basses (two of my favorite bassist!). The action on Percy's custom Ibanez was way too high for me to play for more than a few seconds; In Gary's custom Ibanez' case (the bass, not the case ) his action was what Entwistle would ask for as to string height: "I want them to be coming out of the back of the neck." I know people that are born old and stodgy. At least that’s how they act. Some get younger in their old age.

This doesnt come under "grumpy", but definitely old fart. We're in the process of transitioning my parrot rescue to younger management. I started it 21 years ago in a spare bedroom. Today, the operation has an acre of land, 2500 sq. feet indoors and 1500 outdoors, and over 1000 birds have been adopted. The facility is paid for, the land 100 year lease, and the finances stable. The board and volunteers are gradually absorbing functions, in an orderly progression.

It's not that often that an individual with zero money can launch a non-profit, watch it grow, acquire a national rep, and see it move forward after him. I'm feeling very blessed.

An old Marine buddy of mine is now a clergyman. He says this is my ministry. What I know is that the birds need to be cared for and the tools to do that work got put in my hands.

Luckily, I am a dialysis patient in the local University Hospital ward, so I get to see a doctor at a 15 mins. notice.

The downside is, usually my complications stem from my dialysis treatment. Fretting hand bulged to the limit, got an antibiotics prescription by popping my head at the ward (at no cost to me).

I’ve had Friday On My Mind by The Easybeats stuck in my head.
It’s a great 60’s song that’s been covered by Bowie, Springsteen, Gary Moore, Peter Frampton, and a host of others. I like the MonaLisa Twins version. Also the one by Squeeze. Bands seem to love doing this song.

The band has an interesting background. The lead singer Stevie Wright did Evie which was huge. The rhythm guitarist was George Young. He mentored his little brothers Malcolm and Angus in forming AC/DC. He also produced some of their records. George and another member, Harry Vanda became a well known songwriting team, Vanda & Young. They wrote Evie.

Yeh you're the source for where the Monalisa Twins made themselves part of my musical field. I do like what they're doing, it's fresh, it's fun, they're good. But it's hard to think of them without thinking of the Lemon Twins.

The Lennon Sisters on the Lawrence Welk Program were cheesy. I can see why they were mocked.

These kids rock. What I like about the MLT video for that song was it was shot in black and white. Everything comes to life.
