Something that I've never understood.

Now, that's a good buddy! My lab's been going nuts last couple of days pawing like that in the yard.. but it's only tree frogs. Marmaduke has a blast, though, and I laugh plenty.

The 70’s was a sleezy time in general. There were the so called pimp mobiles. Polyester shirts with big collars.
Times square was a red light district. They’ve cleaned up the drugs and movie houses, as well as the mess and rats
Traditionally bordellos were down by the water or port in the oldest areas, bord de l'eau.
Come on GF's! We all know HOW COOL the 70's were... Hey... Saturday Night Fever... Rocky...... Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band....? I loved the 70's. I loved playing the Allman Brothers Band songs, Average White Band... Give me the 70's over today any day...

Owned, wore (and was momentarily proud of) some of the most horrific clothing EVAH. Lord have mercy. One exception noted, still a good look for me and thank you no traceable photographs exist. Except for one and while it's published I ain't telling.
"Down by the water" also means the wealthy who lived at water's edge were the first to contract plague, yellow fever, &c &c, Joan Plantagenet being a choice example. Not that her family's taste in fashion could be even held up to the ultra-low standards of the 1970s.
Pretty sure rats are a theme here, Times Square or Bordeaux.
Speaking of rats. I had a Rat Fink ring in the 60’s.
