And here it is today, solstice. The cell phone thing, I see, is full of solstice greetings including a video of jasmine. I reply it's going to be a long day. "Even in South Africa?" comes the reply from Cape Town. There ain't no such thing as a free lunch, I key in and send, thinking of Heinlein.

See Vox offers straps and it looks like they're capitalizing on the vibe. I like the detail.

I used to get the strap in school.

The last time, as I recall, me and our drummer were quietly singing songs in the back of the class. The vox was apparently being disruptive. Everyone’s a critic.

Word had it in primary school of an electric paddle in the office.

I generally don't like the 'narrow strap extension' from the wider part, but that thing is majorly cool! Other colors?

That's a nice looking strap. I have one of those reissued Vox amps with that grill cloth sitting in my studio. It's not mine; one of the guitarists I work with leaves it here. I like looking at it :)

Mostly all present and accounted for. Went to see the local big band Wed. night. The current bass player is a U of Miami stud. Really nice kid too, so I'm glad I hipped him to the band vacancy before I left.

@beans-on-toast wondered about Scrub Jays munching baby quail. Thursday I watched more than a dozen babies saunter into my yard for a nap. They're so small they all fit under one parent. Psycho Jay Alpha was happily doing his own thing less than 5 feet away, obviously more into the pill bugs escaping from the compost bin. Baby raccoons in the mix last night though. Now we know who's been messing with the ripe berries in our back yard. Oh well, we all gotta eat.

Hey Charlie! Beat me to the punch!

Good morning GOF's. Kindly report front and center-- make sure all appendages are counted and accounted for. Carey and I are working on emptying out our shed. Too much old stuff and now spiders are making homes in there! My friend has a buddy in Hoonah who has a sawmill and will sell us at cost 1/2's and 1x10's for buildings. The wood is cured and solid and well cut. We're thinking about building a basic box like 8 x 10 about 10 ft tall with a triangle roof for winters. Our poor shed is about 45 years old and the wood smells old and musty. Wife makes me go take a shower after i've sat in the shed for a few hours! LOL.

Getting ready to rehearse for a couple 30 minute shows on July 1 and 2 with a multi-band dance city wide. It should be fun. Get to use my GK MB500/Eden 2xEX110's for once. It will be fun to perform again and watch all the young dancers have some fun.

So what say ye, GOF's? What are your plans for this very nice late spring weekend? :)

Vox Python straps are cool and all, but if you really want to stand out as a cut above...

Unfortunately, they are hard to find.

Seems nowdays it's hard to sport Hello Kitty ironically.

Thursday in a visit with a friend at her farm, she complained of a snapping turtle in the pond. As I observed a fish strike in the pond, recalled another friend who discovered the baby duck predators in her pond are bass. The snapping turtles got fingered without evidence for the crime of oh never mind

Just got back from a visit with family in Orlando. Gig tonight, 6-9(love the early stuff), 'nother tomorrow night(7-10:30ish), jam/open mic Sunday afternoon(heat/humidity-yecch!). Tuesday night, concert band concert, 7-9. Other than those, ain't nuthin' goin' on.

It's a quiet day here for the S family. I have no gigs this weekend; actually not too much on the books right now at all, which is depressing. But the other side of that coin is more free time.

The dogs are enjoying the warmer weather and are all lounging in the back yard. We have a swimming pool, so we've been enjoying that a bit. The frustrating part about that is that, more often than not, I have pets to go care for right around the time I've just gotten settled into the water for the hottest part of the day. Oh, well. Some day I'll retire for real.

Otherwise, not much going on. I'm on a diet. Limiting carbs, which means no wine or beer. I don't really care for beer, but I love wine. Probably not hurting me any to leave that stuff alone.

Yesterday’s rain is gone, the weekend is looking good.

Replacing the cabin air filter on the car tonight. Saturday in the country, a session in there. A couple of instrument setups on Sunday. Built an inexpensive bridge jack tool out of a drawer pull for raising floating bridges when adjusting last weekend, want to try it out.

Otherwise spending as much time outdoors as possible.

All parts present and accounted for.The debauchery begins tonight. Seahag got the tags for her new car today after being d***** around by the DMV yesterday. For an out of state vehical they wanted a signed title and a notarized bill of sale. Nope , that changed yesterday. Now they wanted the original bill of sale. Sheesh , we bought the thing 60 miles away. Oh wait ,they'll take a fax of the thing from the dealer. Uhhhh , we have a copy right here. Nope ,gotta be a fax from the dealer. Would they have known if we went home and faxed the copy we had???????? Anyway , called the dealer and he faxed the thing in so all is well today.
Back to the debauchery. Gig tonight at a pretty hoppin VFW. A lot of them are kinda dead these days but this one was pretty darn good the last time we played there. Country Club gig tomorrow night. Lotsa money and pretty wives to look at. (Yup , I'm a dirty old man and Seahag knows it.) Sunday morning we leave for a week in Ocean City Md. ( my favorite vacation spot.) A bar two blocks to the north of us , a bar three blocks to the south of us , the beach in front of the hotel , and a Thrashers Fries next door. (It's a Maryland thing.) Get there about 1 PM , hit the bar for a couple of dozen oysters and a few Bloody Marys , check in , pass out , and start all over again about 6 PM. Bearbait's coming with us and my brother and his wife from Richmond Va. are meeting us there. Should be a hell of a week. See ya all in about a week if we can stay out of jail.;)
