My wife is addicted to parrots and will be happy to discover another parrot rescue outfit. Eastern Iowa! Who'd a Thunk It? (It's as well the name of a gorgeous tune by another Eastern Iowan, Greg Brown.)
I used to know him, before he got famous.
It seems that neck of the woods has churned out more than a few good players. In that regard it seems like Eastern Kansas. (And maybe it's the case that most seemingly unlikely places are full of good players.)
You can get into some very interesting jams around here.

That’s Vikki Dougan, she helped popularize said style in the 1950’s/early 60’s. She was born in 1929, currently 90.

I guess I should have looked at the cars and what the guys were wearing but somehow I was distracted!

I had my guitar player friend over today to go over some standards. As luck would have it, my drummer friend had planned to be here today also because he does a lot of handy work around here for us and he's been trying to do away with a pile of brush that's in my yard. So I told him he might want to pop into the rehearsal room after a bit, if he felt like it.
Guitarist and I went through a few charts that I'd printed out for some standards. I'm going to be doing the singing, so it's going to take some work to get everything to gel, but initial run throughs were very promising. Then drummer friend decided to stop chipping wood, came in and blew us all away with his mad drummy skilz. Then it sounded even better. So we might be on to something here. Hoping guitar guy enjoyed it as much as drum guy and I did.

I wondered about that as well. Turns out it was an Italian amplifier company, Davoli. Italy was a hot spot in the 60's for instruments, amps, and pedals' the VOX Tone Bender, EKO, etc.
Shocking Blue was based in The Hague. It makes sense that they went with a European supplier.
There were a lot of good bands out of the Netherlands over the years. My fav Beatle tribute band is from Holland, The Analogues. Nobody captures The Beatles better! The Analogues -- SGT. Pepper's...
BTW, I noticed that Shocking Blue did a song called Inkpot.

That style bus was in production until 1969 so you have a lotta time frame to work with.
I remember that electric busses were common. Things have come full circle. Sometimes the arm would jump out of the track. The buss driver would have to go around the back and use a metal hook to get it reconneted. Busses and some trucks had those huge horizontal steering wheels. Some had those spinner balls on the wheel.
