Appreciate the clarification. This thread isn't in Miscellaneous though, it's in Off Topic. And Off Topic is specifically not for musical topic related discussions, except when it is.![]()
Wife Carey says she remembers doing this as a real little girl with her mom and grandmother.

The snapping or the chatting?Wife Carey says she remembers doing this as a real little girl with her mom and grandmother.
Both! Snapping peas and chatting! The snapping or the chatting?
We shuck peas for freezing when they are in season. This year’s batch is done. It’s a tedious job.
Corn shucking to come, it’s about four weeks late this year. Normally thigh high by the 4th of July, not this year. We’ve been having lots of sun and high humidity which corn thrives on.
My first thought: Toledo window box.I remember there was big times with snap beans or purplehull peas. Just snap the bean pods into short sections or shuck the peas outta their pods. Seems we always got big bags of each, in their turn. Don't remember if it was bushels or pecks, or both. A few people still grow their own!

+1. Kinda traditionally Southern. My 'bitter half'(from Wisconsin)basically can't hack Southern food. I, on the other hand, like most('cept boiled okra).<-- likes butter beans![]()
