Real adult girls gather blueberries late Thursday afternoon in 34 degrees + 76 percent humidity. Muffins and ice cream and blueberry vanilla frosting?

I'm in. We picked about 4 pounds in well under half and hour a couple of days ago. Lots of kids there at the U-Pick, so I could just go high on the bushes and scoop to win.

My wife also picked around 75 fresh ripe figs yesterday. Today's the last cool-ish one in the forecast for a while and we'll probably be cooking and/or canning most of the day. There are also probably just about as many more figs on the tree that'll be ripe today or tomorrow. Starlings have caught on, raccoons have not. Lots of baby raccoons coming through, mostly late at night. Had some extremely tiny baby quail running around right at my feet yesterday. I love this time of year here.

And yeah, butter beans are just fine. But green beans are in season at the farm stand right now, which were grown a short two blocks from our house.

The weather has cooled down sufficiently for little Sitka Alaska, everyone's breathing normal again. We had some light misty showers the last couple days to tamp down the (cough cough) dust and make everything greener. Tourists are walking around with plastic clear ponchos LOL. Nice day today. Nothing big planned this weekend. Some cleaning and usual duties. Wife wants to do a couple slow cooker meals this weekend for the week. Tonight we're doing a home pizza and a movie date.

I am here and, as far as I am aware, in possession of almost all I was born with.

This weekend is going to be a blast (I hope). We are having our annual summer party which means that a multitude of people, many musically inclined, will be descending upon us tomorrow afternoon for a potluck party and jam which will also include watery fun in the swimming pool. I've got a lot of people planning attendance so I expect about 2/3 of them to actually show up. Not too many bass players so I'm not sure if I'll be pulling bass duty for most of the day, but I can think of worse things.

Other than this, it's just business as usual around the S household. Dogs are happy and mostly healthy. Not too much going on musically. My main band is on hiatus until we can sort out personnel issues; we had a new guitarist over last night who was really good so now the trick is going to be keeping our regular guitarist/songwriter from getting bent out of shape due to having someone much better than he is in the band. If his ego gets the better of him and he screws this up, I am finished.

I wonder if binary sounds like talking in tongues.

There are three surprisingly good pizza places for such a small town. Two of them are Mexican restaurants and even people coming off the boat have commented on how excellent and authentic he Mexican food is. We have a small Mexican population here and they are part of all the events, and we celebrate Cinco De Mayo. So, here you go, The Pizza Express, Agave Restaurant, and Mean Queen, which is also a band club where we play occasionally and they have special acts come in like comedians, etc.

+1. Kinda traditionally Southern. My 'bitter half'(from Wisconsin)basically can't hack Southern food. I, on the other hand, like most('cept boiled okra).

Throw the okra in the curry. It perfectifies curry.

It's not Cantonese but it is elbow room for grumpiness: finding a restaurant that serves proper Ma Po's Bean Curd is harder to find than a perfect metaphor. I have to make it myself to get it close to right.

Pizza sounds good. So does Cantonese. We opted for Japanese food tonight; not the best for my low carb diet but pretty yummy. I had chicken udon sukiyaki with a cucumber salad and tempura. Yum!
