FB itself is beyond ridiculous. I keep it because the need to be in touch with people through FB is currently greater than my desire to be rid of it. But I don’t like it.

If you have a mac, I use a free app called clipgrab (ClipGrab) to download videos. It is supposed to work with facebook. I don't have a FB account so have never tried it there.

Same here. I bailed several years ago and only re-upped because I was going to NAMM and I really needed to play along with the whole game. My friend with the booth there does a ton of live streaming and a ton of people watch it.

Managed to get those vids you posted working in the Brave browser. Looks like a fun time, and a pretty similar scene to ones I've often been in.

The guy with the red guitar is the guy I'm doing the standards with. Drummer on E-kit is the drummer I work with a lot, and he and the singer will probably be joining me in that project. Singer is also with another band I'm in with that drummer; he's very busy with his day job, so if he joins this other thing it will be on a guest basis. I plan to do the bulk of the singing for that, but he and I sing harmonies really well together so I am looking forward to putting together some duets with him.

Yeah, we had a lot of fun. We had various groups of people with different skill levels in and out of the rehearsal studio all day long, playing various kinds of music; everything from this kind of "everyone knows it" stuff to some swing with a fiddle player, and so forth.

The biggest challenge in hosting a gathering like this is keeping things moving. I had SEVEN drummers there, if you include my husband, and I had to kick really good people off the kit in order to make sure others had a chance to play. Even with two kits in there, E-kit drummer sort of stayed on his kit most of the time (when he wasn't making mojitos in the kitchen) and most of the others wanted to play that vintage Rogers kit (of course they did!). I tried hard to not offend anyone and apologized later to the ones who might have had their feelings hurt.

The drummer to the right on that first video (acoustic kit) in the FB post plays in a rockabilly band with a singer who dresses up like that. They have a great look. I had to specify which drummer, because there were two of them playing; one on my husband's acoustic kit and the other on his own electrics. First time I ever did that

I also never noticed heat being an issue and really liked the flexibility that a cab over provided in tight areas (easy to maneuver and great visibility). On the open road a conventional had/has a better ride IMO and was safer in an accident, but for tight quarters and staying within overall length limits (back in the day before regulators started just focusing on trailer length) the COE was a good compromise. I often wonder if driving for a career would have been more fun than what I ended up doing professionally, but things worked out okay in the end.

BTW, the pic was unplanned. I was up by the SCL tracks doing a little railfanning and looked back at the rig. The early morning sun made it look particularly nice. If I'd planned the shot, I woulda hooked up to a better looking wagon.
