Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

That would take up some bandwidth. ;) Speaking of, when I was out Monday, working a crank bait, it got hung up. When I went to retrieve it, I pulled up an old line with an ancient crank bait on it. I've never caught a lure before! Catching a crank bait with a crank bait - I should be in the Department of Redundancy Department. I think crank baits should be the official GOF lure. :D

OK, how about catching a trout one day, losing it at the boat, then catching the same fish the next day, with the fly I was using the day before, still in it's mouth? (removed both flies and released him) true story.

How many fish have you lost to ospreys and eagles? My total is 4 to ospreys and 1 to a bald eagle (I have a video to prove it).

Enough of taking up time here with fishing stories. If anyone is interested in an informal fishing club, PM me.

If it involves eating fish, I'm definitely interested! :roflmao:

Why not just start a thread in misc and see if it flies.

Flying fish!

Is that the famed "Alaskan Bridge to Nowhere"? ;)
No, it's called the O'Connell bridge, built in the 70's to link an island community called Mt. Edgecumbe to Sitka. No federal dollars were used to build it, it's a State of Alaska property built with at the time oil royalties. It allowed for much needed development of the island and linking the airport to the city of Sitka.

The "bridge to nowhere" was an ironic @$$holish term coined by the press. In Ketchikan, there is a growing community called Revilla island that also is where the airport for Ketchikan is. The bridge would have enabled easy transport of people and goods from the airport from the island, and allow future development of the land for residential development.

The press, in its usual wisdom, without ever going to the island or Ketchikan, used that term to ridicule the project which at the time was fighting other "pork barrel" projects, and was cancelled. It was an economic setback for the Ketchikan community. Such an ignorant phrase that destroyed a community's hope for development for maybe another 30 years.

betcha keep wishing the fish don't bite at your line

At first thought the last time I went fishing was probably before puberty. But that's fresh water fishing. Someone took me on one of those deep sea fishing tours once. At no point in either excursion did I say we're going to need a bigger boat.

I lost half a nice seatrout to a 'cuda right by the boat.:banghead:

The only fly fishing that I get do these days is to check that mine is done up. Good practice to do this before going on stage or out in public.

When I was a kid, my step father would say "Do up that fly or the crows with get it". As I grew up, I often thought he must have been speaking about his worm...;).
