I had a bad hip problem many years ago and took glucosamine for it. It did wonders for me and to this day my hip is pretty good most of the time. I also play standing (practice sitting) and I'd be miserable if I had to sit on stage. Hoping that day never comes, but at 60 I know it's only a matter of time.

Actually learned myofascial release (as a lay person) in the course of my own healing. I don't actually practice it. What it does is profound. But always best to hold the understanding of what it does not do. It doesn't remove the calcium deposits in my left shoulder (where 10 pounds of Stingray hangs). A few visits to physical therapy and that's how I ducked the surgeon.
Carey and I saw Tony Bennett last year at the Paramount in Seattle. He's 85, had a new baby, and sang on his feet for 90 minutes. The last song he did was 'San Francisco' off-mic. There's some inspiration for ya. I was certainly inspired. There's hope for all of us!

He's a guitarist with money to burn. He needs something heavy, ike an old Peavey combo amp with a 15 in it.
Failing that, if it's only for studio recording, and we want to pity him for having to haul his full Marshall stack all the time (or Twin Reverb with JBLS in it) perhaps a Markbass combo amp would work well for him. I have used my Minimark for many recordings (and gigs, too) with excellent results.

Speaking of heavy, I keep thinking about that [perhaps gently used] Ampeg 810 I saw the other day in the B&M with all the new Rumbles. And I just know what that thing will do, and I just know I've no reason for it because of its sheer mass. "Stairs" is exactly what I said to the shopkeeper. That in no way diminishes my desire to crank one up.

I've only used one once at a gig. It was supplied backline.
You can make good money with an 810 and Loud amp renting it out for lease breaking parties. Sometimes just rolling it into a building is enough for Mr. Landlord to cry uncle.
If I had help(roadie)and if I had the 'need' for it(them?), I hooked these up-just to see if I could:Kasino-2x15, 200w; Rumble 200c-1x15,200w; R112 cab-1x12, out of 200c. Volumes @ 9 o'clock-barely on. OMG! Rattled plates and windows. If I do anything big outside, I'm set.<addendum>I owned a mid 70s Blue line SVT/matching 810 cab. It was used on a steady gig in a Miami Beach hotel lounge, 81-83. It went up on stage, was there for 50 weeks, came down for 2 weeks(vacation), then back up for another 50 weeks. after that, I sold it to someone much younger.

Agreed. I recently bought a DNA 112 clone with a 4 ohm Mesa Neo speaker and bullet tweeter. As you say, the cab is stupid loud with my GK MB500 head. I have two Eden EX110's that are 25 pounds each. Stacked they are beastly. However, the 29 pound DNA 112 clone gets loud enough for most all gigs even with a moderate drummer and loud guitars. But hey, when we were young and strong we thought a cab under 75 pounds was light....

I never owned the benchmark (SVT+fridge), but I plugged into one every time I visited the Vox Box in Marshall, MO. Ironic that they never had any Marshalls in stock.

La Bella 750N-40 plus a .135 B, on a Dingwall ABZ-5.
The ABZ is a lightweight version of the Afterburner- 37" to 34" fanned-fret. Very articulate, beautifully balanced, looks like it sat too close to a heat register and got warped.

Yeah, I played through a nice Ampeg SVT head a couple of months ago at a festival. It sounded really nice but when I looked up the price and weight, I decided I like what I have. My days of lugging 80lbs around are over and I don't have 3 grand to spend. Oh, well.
