This together with the equal tensions EADG is such a good concept i feel it should be extended to more popular string types like nickelplated and steel roundwounds, i'm a little surprised it started with pure nickels.
It started out on Pure Nickel, because frankly I wanted to try it that way. So, it was pure selfishness. And I'm good with that.
But, it bears mentioning that, had I tried it on something as iconic as Bass Boomers (our nickel-plated offering), the chances are great that it wouldn't have caught on nearly as quickly, nor be as appreciated. It needed to be a new set to provide a better platform for people to look at it on its merit, instead of "Why'd you change ______? It was great the way it is!"
Whether we like it or not, change is hard. And, some players DO NOT CARE about balanced tension, and that's fine. There are some basses of mine that I use "traditional" string sets on, as they're the best for that bass. There are others that I use a more "balanced" set as it works better.
As for stainless steel, not as many people use them as you may think. When someone asked previously about doing a "Balanced Super Steels" set, IIRC I mentioned that nickel-plate outsells stainless on a ratio of 10:1. They may be offered at some point, but I'd rather update those to the 37.25" winding length first.
