picked this up Sat from one of the lads here

It's very very nice . I dare say flawless . As it should be for a 3k bass . Sounds fantastic too . I've done a good bit of searching and I'm 99% sure these are D'Addario med scale chromes on here stock .

That thing is sweet. 611.4 lbs. is a little outside of my comfortable weight range.

I got to play one of these about 10 years ago. Absolutely massive. Almost stand up sized. Really strange instrument.

Color me jealous. I've seen pictures but never met one face to face.

Yeah. At a place in Toronto. I think it was about to be fixed\restored and was in really rough shape. Not like I got to do a gig with it. Just plucked a couple of notes on its old and out of tune strings.

Cool piece of history, but not a useable bass in any way IMO.

I had the opportunity to play a gold top finished one at a Music Go Round in Columbus, OH back in April. It too was very lightweight, god tone and great F&F. They were asking a reasonable price, too. Unfortunately it had a twist to the neck so I passed.

The sunburst and flame on yours looks great!

They released the EB5 in matte black. Guess I know what I'm getting myself for Christmas.

They are starting to list some of the other 2018 models too. The cherry t-bird seems super light weight.

Dang. Always wanted a walnut SG. Very attached to my Cherry 2015 model though.

Glad they finally have more basses available. Don't love "bright cherry" but still. Makes me happy.

Same here. I do prefer the classic case the new ones are coming with over the gold sarcophagus the 2015's have.

Agree. Gold case works but just doesn't seem right.

I'm still waiting for that RD bass that was referred to on the Dutch site...along with SG in ebony...keeping my fingers crossed....

I like the heck out of these redesigned EB's... it's like they took the Tobias body pattern and a Victory neck, then put some well-thought-out electronics on board.

I'd even given some thought to flipping my old Q-80 for a 2017 or 2018 EB. Thing is, every time I plug that old thing up and play it for a while, I remember how much I like it. Best impulse buy/trade ever.

Shame on me if a Fireburst 5-string shows up in the TalkBass Classifieds.

Just realized they finally did black hardware on this 5 string. Looks really good to me. Also like that the back of the neck is finished in black. I'm not usually an all black kind of guy, but this does appeal to me.

I also like that they appear to be sticking with the Babicz bridges for the 2018 lineup. I know the old 3 point is perfectly fine, but I do like the Babicz. Seems less "fiddly" overall.

I like these style cases better aesthetically. Though, the molded plastic cases are a bit easier to keep humidified in the winter.

I just wish they'd include one with the EB.
