GIBSON Club. Part II

After several years of lookin I finally found the missing puzzle piece..2013 Gold Top Les Paul.
These 2013 LP’s are in my opinion are the best versions that Gibson has put out there.
Cheers!

No..not called the oversized version...They got it right with the headstock as well
????
Per the Gibson bass book, which I recently purchased and highly recommend, all les paul model basses made from 2011 to 2013 are oversized bodies and chambered.
Oversized simply means the bodies are bigger than the les paul guitar bodies
I own a 2011 model in gloss black.

All 3 basses in that picture have the oversized & chambered body

Always learning something...that's a good thing, right?
Was perusing regurge aka reverb the other day and came across an Orville by Gibson EB-3 Bass. I thought to myself what in the world is this? Then I googled away and found this:
Orville by Gibson - Wikipedia

Orville SG Bass EB-3 1998 Heritage Cherry

Gibson Orville Thunderbird Sunburst | Demolition Sounds

Were they any good?

Seems like they were in between Gibson and Epiphone based on the wiki info?

Like Buick is between Cadillac and Chevrolet?

Don’t forget Epiphone Elitist.

Ah...good old Denmark St....spent a lot of time there in my much younger years, before the Japanese collectors raided it in the early 90s. Ian Bishop used to have a store there...a zillion Gibsons and one heck of a fine gentleman.

I owned one of those early EB-0s back in the day, in absolutely trashed condition but truth be told I would be happy to buy it back. These are very sweet - if somewat quirky - instruments...
